2022 Minor League Week 19 Games Thread (8/9 - 8/14/22)

After a losing week 17, the CLE full season affiliates returned to their winning ways with a great week 18. They went 19-5 with a +31 run diff.
Now onto week 19 games to see if the winning ways can continue.

AAA: Columbus (62-42) visits St, Paul (51-52, Minnesota affiliate)
AA: Akron (55-45) hosts Bowie (51-50, Baltimore affiliate)
High A: Lake County (55-45) hosts Fort Wayne (44-58, San Diego affiliate)
Low A: Lynchburg (50-52) visits Charleston (68-33, Tampa Bay affiliate)

My last attended game featured a home run by Valera. The thing that really struck me was the sound of bat on ball. Not "crack"; more like "click". He's got a speedy swing.

I do hope I can watch Rocchio play SS again, just to see if his throwing accuracy has caught up to his strength. He has a hose.

Akron trailed 5-3 in bottom of 9th with two on, two out. Rocchio, Lavastida and Pries all single, for a 6-5 win!

Curry had a no-no after 5.1 but gave up a hit. Clippers up 4-0.

Alex Call homers for Rochester off Matt Harvey, but Red Wings drop their 18th in a row… that is NOT a typo…

Morris’ 9th inning That dude at times just seems to do whatever he wants with guys with 3 pitches, command, velocity. I know I’m constantly riding him on this board but outside of health there is no way that dude is not a great weapon no matter where in the majors

Sounds silly, but I wonder if we should switch Morgan and Morris around for now until Morgan gets his fastball back?

He airmailed a throw from the hole that nearly left the park, same as the last time I watched him.

Noel has a seriously quirky stance. He could take a while, not hitting much in AA yet.
