By the names it seems like it would set us up well, but I don't know the prospects this season like I normally would..

Personally, I think this is the year we should go after specialists, particularly three point specialists in the mold of Corey Kispert & Trey Murphy.

Defensive specialists are also a welcome addition. We have three good picks in this draft so those things should be easy to address.

Obviously, if a big time talent drops to us, it would be a no-brainer to go for BPA.

Just my 2 cents.

Can we just go BPA in a sense? This team is still young, but we have age off the bench at PG and PF/C plus we need a scorer from SG spot, so its not like we don't have needs which we can likely fill with BPA...

I honestly think this is a pretty deep draft.

The player the Cavs will get in this draft, looking at it today, is better than a typical prospect.

The wing class is especially deep. I'll pull numbers at seasons end but as it stands now, I see:

Wings (SF) with + 1st round grades, relative to my possession data (8):

Banchero, Brown, Murray, Moore, Griffin, Eason, Champagnie, Ingram

Wings (SF ) with high 2nd round grades, relative to my possession data (2):

Baldwin, Walker

Some of these guys will tail off in the last half but having 10 players on the wing that are actual NBA prospects is phenomenal.

Then when you mix in how many quality SG's there are as well and there is no need to take a specialist to me.

I'm open to trading our 1st round pick but it better be for someone very consequential.

Unless we are getting back a Brandon Ingram type for our 1st+, I really don't want to move it in this specific draft.

Fine moving both seconds.......but I want one swing at whatever wing(s) are left in this draft. So many profile as plus guys.

Hot take here: if he stays healthy and the knees aren't a concern, isn't AJ Griffin a better long term prospect than Paolo Banchero? I'm a much bigger fan of his skills and overall package than Paolo's.

Can't really explain why I'm a bit lukewarm on Banchero, I just don't really like his archetype of score first power forwards who don't have C size, aren't great floor spacers and don't project as defensive difference makers. There's a lot of examples like Melo, Randle, even Blake Griffin, who can put up a ton of numbers and be the number one option but their on-court impact doesn't quite hit that elite level. And that's IF Banchero hits as a prospect.

I like AJ Griffin, on paper. However, something about his shooting motion and base give me pause and think he'll be chronically injured. I have absolutely zero to go on with that, as I haven't scouted him moderately, let alone heavily. His wide base and bowleggedness is jarring to watch, though. Hopefully nothing and I'm an idiot.

His shooting motion is very odd to me as well. With the extra wide base it seems like it makes him about 3 inches shorter than he really is. He definitely can shoot well but I agree his shooting motion is very odd due to having his legs spreadout so much.
