2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I agree that SG/SF is the need, but im hoping that guy is 6'8+", in the Paul George mold, instead of the 6'5" Ivey mold. I'm not turning my nose up at someone 6'5" if they're the best fit on the board, but if all things are equal, I'm going with the height.
Did he get the meniscectomy to grow to that 6'5 like you claim Sexton needed smh Ivey is 6'2 at best.
Ivey is a high level college athlete with good skills but you saying he is 6'5 and the fact you are always bitching about Sexton and like this kid is laughable given he is undersized at the 2

Maybe Ben Mathurin will play himself into being one of the top guys we should target by the end of the year? He's a combination of great athlete and great shooter at the wing position, he maybe added some things to his game after playing more on the ball for Canada this summer, and he's looking pretty good this year. Like the floaters and moves driving after a close out.

On the other hand, Houstan is slumping bad. He went 4-25 and 1-14 from 3 in his last 3 games, 2 of which were losses.

Chet Holmgren and Gonzaga about to play #2 UCLA!

I'm not quite sure what to make of Chet. I'm both completely sure he'll dominate at this level while still having significant concerns about the next level given his frame.

He's probably a better dribbler, shooter and shot blocker than Mobley at the same age, but I don't think he's as mobile on defense and he's so frail that asking him to ever be a post up threat is probably not in the cards. Will bigs just move him under the rim? Will guards and wings just finish straight through him? He's also got a good BBIQ, but I don't think he's quite the genius that Mobley is (although you could say that for just about any big). Does he end up falling into the Kristaps trap where teams just put a smaller guy on him and he can't do anything about it?

Our recent losing streak has moved us up to 12th in the draft, if it were held today - should definitely be able to snag a good wing at that spot.

Watched a good bit of Auburn's game today. Jabari right now seems like more of the PF side of combo 4 on offense, seems like his dribble game isn't advanced enough yet to be one of the first options as an NBA wing. He's got an amazing shot at his size though, and I think eventually he'll be at least pretty good off the dribble pulling up. On defense, he's got the tools to be at the least very good and seems like he could easily guard wings.

If we're lucky enough to be in position to get him, I say take him and figure out offensive fit later. You'll have a front court of freakishly big and long guys and we'd probably lock in a top 5 defense moving forwards.

If we're in the position to get Jabari Smith, we're in position to get AJ Griffin or Jaden Ivey who are much cleaner fits next to Mobley, Allen, & Garland.

Don't care what he is. Pf or Sf.

I have not seen one game of his, but I know he us what the Cavs need. Gut game is strong on this one.

My draft rater goes by name and stl+blocks ratio on this one.

Keegan Murray is looking GOOD. Jabari Smith is #1 on my Cavs wish list but Murray might be number 2 in all honesty. Also interested in guys like Kendall Brown, AJ Griffin, Nikola Jovic...

Don't trust Holmgren's frame and I don't envision him as a SF in the league, so he would just be another big, which we don't need. Not high on Banchero personally.

Cavs need to knock this draft pick out of the park and find a stud wing for us to get to that next level.

Watched some highlights after reading this.... and YES.
Keegan Murray looks exactly like the kind of wing player that would be a banger in the line up with Mobley, Allen, and Garland. Ditto for Smith. But if Smith is out of Cavs reach, Murray gotta be the #2. I would love to see him and Cedi be the wings in rotation.

Keegan Murray has taken a HUGE step forward this year. He's a bit of an older prospect, as he will be 21.8 years old at the time of the 2022 draft. He reminds me a little of DeAndre Hunter, albeit with a better offensive game. It could also be that Iowa needs him to do more than Hunter needed to do at Virginia, which had alot of other weapons offensively. At this point, Murray is my #1 SF, ahead of the more heralded Caleb Houstan, Peyton Watson, & Patrick Baldwin, all of whom are taking their time getting adjusted to the college game.

I also really like Bryce McGowens, who reminds me some of Klay Thompson, and Ben Mathurin, who thoroughly outplayed Houstan in their matchup. I'm also anxious to see Ousmane Dieng.

I also like Jaden Ivey a lot. What do you guys think of him? Supremely athletic, relentless motor, good defense, and fantastic playmaking at the SG position. Shot is currently a question mark but it’s far from broken, so it’s not an Okoro-like situation.

He is shorter at 6’4 with only a 6’7 wingspan but I think he and Garland could be a good fit together in the backcourt. He has the kind of angry aggression to his game that DG and Mobley lack.

Here’s my concerns with Ivey. I suspect he’s not 6’4” and, with our present roster composition, we need a SF with some length more than we need another smallish SG. If we could replace Okoro or Sexton with Ivey, while still adding a SF, I’d be be interested in that.
