2022 Season | Series #12 | Reds @ Guardians | May 17-18, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
At least we won't see Naquin again this year unless he gets traded in a fire sale. He came up huge in both those wins.

I like Miller a lot but he chases way too many pitches.

It seems like every time a Guardian gets down 0-2 the next pitch is a slider down and away and out of the zone. But we chase it consistently, especially Franmil and Amed.

I'm sitting on the couch screaming, "0-2 count, here it comes, slider outside in the dirt, don't chase!!!". But they do anyway. I'm not even a professional baseball player and I know exactly what is coming. I don't understand why they don't.

Gimenez had two on and one out in the 7th with the game tied 1-1. On an 0-1 count he chased a fastball high and inside and flied out to left in foul territory. Just a horrible at-bat. With no strikes on him he chased something out of the zone and got himself out.

Why can't our pitchers throw to bases? It's embarrassing.

It also seems possible that the Kwan, Miller, Gimenez mirage may be coming to an end.

where was that fighting spirit when he played for us .... wished he was that pissed off during the WS and taking control of even damn fly ball ... worse play I have seen by OF and i have seen my kids little league games
The WS was in 2016...........a lifetime ago.

The more games that are played, the more the flaws in this lineup stick out.
We need Naylor at 1B. Regularly.
We need Oscar Gonzalez in RF. Regularly.
Even if he flames out, he will be ahead of the curve for about 2 months. That's 2 months of production we otherwise wouldn't have.

Colby? Swiss? Cheddar? Just wondering what cheese is required for a not ready to complete whining is, but will be by 2024, is?

We keep saying we need this or that...and usually the focus is on power, too many Ks, and not getting on base enough.

Lets look at each of these over the last four games, in which we have scored a miserable 10 runs.

We have plenty of power guys in our lineup......with a heart on paper of JRam, Franmil, and Naylor....three guys with power.

In those four games, JRam has had 17 PAs...2 H and a walk.

Franmil has had 13 PAs...1 H and 3 walks.

Naylor hasn't played.

********

In his 17 PAs, JRam has had six with runners on base...a total of nine runners.

In his 13 PAs, Franmil has had five with runners on...a total of six runners.

In a total of 30 PAs they have had runners on base eleven times. (36.7%) 15 base runners.

The problem isn't getting on base in front of our power.

**********

Except for the last game vs Minny, when we Kd nine times, the problem isn't Ks. In the other three we've Kd a total of 15 times and walked ten times.

********

All winter long there was a chorus singing...

'LET THE KIDS PLAY, we don't care about this season. We only care about 2023 and 2024.'

Then when any of the kids spend a few weeks not playing at an all star level, we complain about them.

This is what this forum wanted, so sit back and watch them play. Everybody should have known that there would be ups and downs in a coveted year of tryouts.

Miller is the second rated 2B in the league, and first in offense.

Gimenez...just below qualifying...is the fifth rated SS, fifth offensively.

Kwan is the sixth rated LF, and fifth offensively.

Straw is the fifth rated CF, ninth offensively.

Even with the downs so far, they are all passing the test.

Thats not even counting Naylor, who is only 24.
