2022 Season | Series #16 | Royals @ Guardians | May 30 - June 1

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The rainouts will create significant schedule issues later in this season so you cannot assume it’s a huge benefit to catching the Twins.
I'm not assuming anything.

Another way to look at the backfield schedule is that for the games we missed our rotation was not ramped up, but will be then.

And doubleheaders work both ways. The opponents pitching staffs will be just as taxed, but we have more pitching depth than most of them.

Also, it's not so much about who you play, but when you play them. Everyone here knows that the best team in MLB can look like the worst at times and vice versa. All I know is that I can envision this team being very good before the season is over. Will it be enough to get us in? Probably not, but I wasn't expecting that this season anyhow. I expected to see some prospects and talented players/prospects replace the placeholders. So far that is happening and I expect it to continue even if it isn't as quickly as I would like it to. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake baby.

Right now we are scheduled to play two doubleheaders with Minnesota, two with Chicago, and one with Detroit.

Somewhere along the line this means that each team will be forced to use sixth-seventh-eighth starters or bullpen games, which put a strain on pens.

Looking at Pilkington, our deep bench of SPs in Columbus/Akron, and the versatility of Morgan, I will take my chances that we can put up some solid spot starts.

On the other hand, the necessity of using some of those youngsters probably means some 40 man headaches.

There should be little doubt that the Guardians hold an edge over most teams when it comes to pitching. Not only is there more quality depth, but they've handled them properly and just about everyone is healthy. Civale's injury being the exception and non-pitcher related. He'll return soon anyway.

The Twins just lost three in a row and four out of five to Detroit. It happens to everybody, not just the Guardians. There are no automatic wins. Every win is a good win, no matter who the opponent.

In their last ten games, all vs KC and Detroit, they have scored...

By the definition this board uses, every offense is 'inconsistent'.

No team goes out and puts up five runs every night, no matter who the opposition is.

Back in the day, my slo-pitch softball team put up at least 5 runs pretty consistently! Occasionally won a game, too!

Every win is a good win!

I will sign that statement!
