I've been watching Valera since the Hillcats, he's so good. He better not bust. And yes Bimbo was the first guy I heard mention Valera and how we need to keep a very close eye on the kid way back then.

Cats is on record to crowning Amed over all of the IFs in the organization. Even Gimenez at the beginning of season.

Basically if you have your guy, everyone else can't be better. Maybe he just loves him some Amed enough to trade off other assets. He was ho-hum on Arias, talked down on Rocchio.

Pretty sure he was one of the alternative posters regarding calling up OGon and sending down Franmil/Mercado.

Prospects are very important to what we are doing. Our organization needs these kids to be good while being cheap.

They add a spark, OGoat has created such a buzz in his short time and he's here to stay. Valera is going to be that same spark come his time it's probably going to be in LF while Kwan is a super 4th OF for us.

Do you want to keep Plesac and Civale when it's time to call up Espino and Gavin? Obvious answer, NO.

CATS is entitled to his say too, and there are certain things I like about Amed as well. The problem is that he is being squeezed out and is getting in the way now. It wasn't too long ago(the other day) CATS even mentioned that he was getting on board with moving Amed. CATS and I bang heads regularly, but he isn't wrong being a fan of Rosario's and he was once a higher rated prospect than any we have now, if that has any relevance.

Let's keep it real here. Some of us wanted to see OGon promoted, but nobody could envision what he's doing now and it won't last. The question is where will he level out.

Prospects are the lifeblood of this organization. It is the youngest roster in MLB and starting to show substantial improvement. The beauty of that is we are just scratching the surface. Wait until guys like Naylor, Valera, Espino, Williams and numerous others start to find their way.

I might not be popular for saying this, but I'd look to deal at least one of Plesac and Civale by the break if a couple of guys like Pilkington, Battenfield, Myers, and Morris can get themselves "lined out". I'd rather this be the season they make their debuts and take their lumps than next season when we should be a serious contender. Just my opinion.

One never knows. Hell, Kwan could bust out and smack 20 HRs and 20 2Bs before the season is over. Stranger things have happened. I sure as hell ain't holden my breath on that, but baseball can be ironic.

A couple mis representations that need to be addressed.

First, I've never been down on Arias, but I've always been high on Gimenez and Rocchio. That puts Arias at third on my totem pole...and we can only play two.

I like Amed at this time above everybody, excepting Gimenez....because while nobody seemingly wants to make a real run this year, I do....and Amed is a RH MLB player. If Miller can prove that he is the answer at 2B, and OGonz proves he is a real MLB hitter, and Franmil gets back, and Amed doesn't get hot, Amed will be gone. Lots of ifs in there.

Concerning OGonz, who looks like a HOFer, three names that many of you would have been thrilled to trade for...

The same things being said about Kwan now were said about Brantley for three years, although the ones that said it back then deny it today. Brantley was nothing more than a slap hitting fourth outfielder. Fans were always peering into the farm system, looking for a prospect who would replace him.

I like Arias, Rocchio, Freeman, Miller, Gimenez, Gonzalez, Palacios, Valera, and Kwan. I like a lot of others.

But they aren't all gonna become productive MLB players...and there aren't enough positions available for them all to spend much time in Cleveland.

We've seen suggestions to trade away Plesac, Civale, Amed, and even Franmil (doh!). Many want to dump Shaw.

Several loved Kwan, and two months later denigrate him, because he doesn't hit balls over the fence. His OBP is fifty points over league average. (Shrug)

One even suggests that winning the division doesn't mean anything, because we can't win the World Series.

The same ones who drooled over the likes of Zimmer, Bradley, Chang, Frazier, and Andujar ( remember all the trade talk for multiple years?) now drool over Jones, Benson, and Arias...because they are BIG and hit for POWER.

Big difference between Brantley and Kwan. Brantley is 6’2” and 209 pounds. Kwan is 5’9” and tips the scales at 170. Doesn’t sound like a good comp based on physical attributes.

You aren't reading the consensus as well as you think... Most of us here want a move to be made, just not one where we overpay for someone...

We don't want to overpay for someone who isn't an improvement over who we believe we have. Happ hasn't ever been over 2 WAR for any season, so why trade multiple players they feel can get over 1 WAR for that player.

The FO pretty much said, Young kids or All-Stars and the forum majority have the same mindset. We haven't found an All-Star that we have been able to acquire within reason yet, otherwise we would have made the move.... We were on Winker (who we lost cause we wouldn't take Suarez) and lost Olson, who we lost cause we weren't willing to add an extension on.

Kwan has no room to add the power like Brantley did later in his career is pretty much what that is saying. Kwan in a sense, won't improve much from where he is at now. He will always be a high BA, high OBP, low SLG and mid to low OPS. That honestly isn't a bad thing at the end of the day since you can trust him to get hits and get on base. He has a great floor, but not a great ceiling.
