2022 Season | Series #20 | Guardians @ Rockies | June 14-16, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
But I dont overdo it on Tito.

Shaw had two stellar outings the last two nights, and what do we hear on this forum?

Crickets.

Amed had a web gem last night, and what do we hear on this forum?

Crickets.

Amed had -9 DRS last season, and we heard about it almost daily. This year he has +5 DRS, one of the very best among SSs in the league, and.....

Crickets

Straw pinch hit for Palacios vs a lefty. Folks don't like it. But what were the options? Switching to a RH batter was the obvious move. The alternatives to Straw were Mercado, Clement, and Maile.

Maile, as the other catcher, was a no no.

Straw is the obvious defensive option. Using one of the others as the pinch hitter, and then replacing him with Straw, leaves Tito one less option later in the game, esp if it goes extra innings.

Nobody likes Shaw, and seemingly never have, even though he may be one of the best set up man in Cleveland history.

We used a bunch of relievers last night. We go into LA tomorrow night, when we are gonna need all of them. Using Shaws rubber arm today sets up the rest of the pen for the Dodgers.

Both moves, if you look at more than just the moment at hand, made absolute sense.
Cats is willing to listen to opposing views on Tito and Shaw, said no one.

When those opposing views are 100% negative, you are right.

Tito is the greatest manager in Indians history. He has lead this franchise to eight winning seasons out of nine....and the ninth was when he had no rotation, due to injuries.

Not counting Miller, who was only really good for a year and a half, Shaw is one of the two best Cleveland set up men in my lifetime. The other was Eric Plunk, who fans hated, too.

If Jose Ramirez decides to play 3rd base without a glove and wearing a blindfold, he could be called out for doing something dumb. The response would be “Jose is a Hall of Fame third baseman”!

Cats you are just going to have to accept the fact your perception is 100% spot on reality.. You're always right... Always.. 100%.... Everyone else is wrong... The world is against you... And Bryan Shaw.... he is probably against you too, but we're totally100% against him 24/7/365 so it's a wash...

G’s passed the BoSox for the last Wildcard spot!

Anybody know our magic number?

The G's conclude the soft spot in the schedule (between the Houston and Dodger series) with a record of 14-5. Not bad at all. Now it gets a lot tougher.

Great job by McKenzie as he allowed just one run and that was due to a fly ball that should have been caught by Kwan. Eli "The Weapon" Morgan got 6 outs in 16 pitches and Clase closed out another.

Kwan manufactured a huge insurance run by inducing a wild throw to first base on a perfectly timed fake break.

Oscar Gonzalez was putty in the hands of Kuhl with three strikeouts, but he avoided the Golden Sombrero with a ground out in his last at-bat.

Straw with a pop-up to first and another short fly to right. He finished 0-for-12 in the series. He's still consistently late and under the ball.

Jose struck out on a ball that hit him in the foot. The other night he dribbled one to the mound on a ball that almost hit him in the stomach. He's trying too hard for RBIs. With a man on third and two strikes he swings at every pitch, no matter how far out of the zone.

Hedges with a two-out RBI single that turned out to be important in a 4-2 win.

I didn't think we'd get a sweep but the pitching was great as the Rockies were held to 10 runs in three games. The bullpen allowed just 2 runs in 10.2 innings. The Guardians were just 3-for-19 with RISP the last two games so the pitching had to be on point.

Looks like Franmil will be back next week and Civale as well so help is on the way.

Thanks for the recognition...lol.

I'm not always right, but so many on this forum see nothing but negative, even when it isn't there.

I dont want to put words in his mouth, but I think it was Bimbo who said that Guardian boards are the most negative of any fan base he has seen.

On this board, every player on the active roster, excepting Jose, is very flawed and most could be easily replaced by one of our prospects, that seemingly have no flaws.

In the last week, in spite of what these guys are doing on the field, there have been suggestions that we trade Amed, Franmil, Civale, Plesac, and Bieber. Some of you guys are nuts.

If you want nothing but pessimistic opinions, don't look at me. If you want nothing but optimistic opinions, don't look at me. But if you want realistic evaluations, good and bad, keep reading.

Right now, these guys are doing well. The few vets have strong track records, and the kids have generally favorable trend lines.

On the other hand, prospects in this org that have been human windmills in the minors have a success rate of Zero. Until ONE becomes a productive MLB player,
count me skeptical.

Tito has a reason for every decision he makes. The immediate situation is sometimes a major factor.. Those decisions are usually straight forward. But many are colored by near or long term realities. Hes playing chess..three moves ahead...not poker.. Today was a great example. His use of the rotation early this year is another, long term example.

I'm sorry, if those facts...and they are facts...leave anybody butt hurt.

Those that don't like such opinions should probably put me on ignore....and live in bliss.

I won't mind at all.

It's not your opinions or thoughts that are the problem. It's the way you generalize, lump everything together and use that platform as your spring board. It really is disrespectful to be so disregarding to actual individuals in order to shape your narrative.

There really are not that many active posters to be so flippant. But all you do is "well these guys said that" and "those guys said this" and that some how magically equates to the point you are trying to make. You can do better. You can be fair. It's your choice.

We’re not all nuts, CATS. And Bimbo himself talks about the impending trade of Rosario. Trading Bieber is mainly bandied about due to the prevailing opinion that he won’t be extended. Reyes? The guy has done ZERO this year, you don’t expect people to think about shipping him out? Fans get frustrated. I get frustrated, watching bad lineup construction nightly. These are facts, not opinions…

That bad lineup construction is leading the division in runs scored per game.

That is not an opinion.

Anybody who suggests that we should trade Franmil at the lowest point of his career, because of 145 PAs out of over 1600 in his career is baseball nuts. And averring that we can do it, because OGonz can step right in and replace him, is doubly baseball nuts.

Again, the majority of regular posters lean heavily to negativity that covers everybody, but Jose.

Disrespect is the constant abuse I take from about a half dozen posters on here. Its okay, I'm a big boy. But pointing out the constant inanity of some of these guys...who should know better...is not.

Again, if you dont like my posts, this site offers an ignore option.

Shaw gets the raw end of the stick from fans, even now when is essentially Tito's security blanket. Shaw wouldnt be in this situation if guys like Sandlin, Stephan, Morgan, Maton, etc would step up. Or Karinchak would just figure out how to doctor the baseball like most other pitchers and not be Captain Fucking Obvious.

As for Amed, he's in one of his hot spells, of course they need to find ABs for him. But it still doesn't mean he shouldn't have been shipped out in the off-season. Rinse, repeat old arguments: hes not as good of a SS as Gimenez, in any way, and he's shown no real ability to learn another position. The sooner he is dealt, the better. But for now? While the team needs offense and Amed is hot? You run him out there.

No qualms with Straw, as you noted, not many options.
