2022 Season Series #34 | Astros @ Guardians | August 4-7, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I want a huge company where streaming isn’t their main revenue source (Apple, Amazon, etc) buy the broadcast rights so they can offer it as a loss leader that drives incremental dollars to their non-content business. So that DirectTV Sunday Ticket bullshit doesn’t happen again.
Give me nationalized professional sports. Everyone can watch streams, profits go back into the communities.

Just seen the overruling in the Twins game, they got so hosed it's not even funny.

Except it's very fucking funny :chuckle:
Anybody got a clip from Twitter?

You saying he had a clear lane and got tagged out anyway?

I suspect giving a lane (at some point) was the key & why it got overturned...
Sanchez setup initially straddling the baseline (a foot on either side) & then "dropped his knee" as he made the catch.

Looks textbook for a few years ago before the rule changed. Now you have to setup to one side or the other (giving the runner a lane). The catcher can cross/ close the lane as he moves to make the catch. But lack of any lane to start is the issue & counter to the rules.

There was a story with video & ump explanation after the review on Bleacher Report earlier today...

Yeah, this one's on Sanchez.

You do that, the runner should be blowing you up Pete Rose style. The rule change is to protect catchers like Sanchez.

Quite a bit of debate about it in the comments. Some Blue Jays fans claiming they got a gift. But the issue is the interpretation of the new rules. And was he leaving a lane before he caught the ball. Which he did not appear to do.
