2022 Season Series #34 | Astros @ Guardians | August 4-7, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Myles Straw about to bring the Gs right back into this with a jack. I can feel it.
Has he even hit one to the warning track this year? I wish they would have dealt him back to Houston at the deadline, but that's just me.

The good thing about fireworks nights is the crowd sticks around, so a grand slam here might ignite the fireworks early due to the energy released from the crowd.

Bah. We waved the white flag a little too early.

Maybe with nobody on you can look for a walk.

But with the bases loaded, two outs, and two strikes, you have to swing at anything close.

Last season we was starting Hentges, Meija, and Allen, while Wittgren and Shaw were taking Ls left and right.

This season we're starting Pilkington, Shaw, Gaddis today, McCarty, and Plesac and Civale are 4-15 with a 5+ ERA.

And we still have only one really good arm in the bullpen, definitely need to upgrade next year.

Pitching Factory...

The fight between the middleweight and heavyweight continues. The cumulative score so far is 15-3. But at least we have a major league pitcher starting tomorrow.

Too bad they had to bring up a guy who pitched all but two games in AA this year to face the Astros. Gaddis got hammered, which was totally predictable.

Nolan Jones can't hit a fastball. Not just this game - other games as well. He reminds me of Tyler Naquin; he's dangerous on low breaking stuff but you can punch him out with heat up in the zone.

Oscar Gonzalez is a moron. I thought these guys from the DR started playing at age 2. You'd think he would have a pretty good understanding of the game by now. Like understanding that if you're on first base with one out and there's a pop-up to the shortstop you don't jog halfway to second and then stand there and watch him double you off.

Will Benson has no clue at the plate. He still hasn't come close to getting a hit or even a line drive out in 7 at-bats.

Maile has 5 hits in his last 10 at-bats. Hedges has 3 hits in his last 10 at-bats with four walks. Between the two of them they're 8-for-20 with four walks for an on-base percentage of .500. Who needs Wilson Contreras?

That was the first time this season I can remember Straw hitting a fly ball that got over an outfielder's head. They keep playing him shorter and shorter, taking away his bloops. Tonight he finally made somebody pay.

Freeman got on base three times in four plate appearances. He looks like he can handle the bat and not chase too many pitches. Can he play first base?

Nice job by the bullpen; 5.2 innings, 1 earned run.

Come on, you're a better poster than this. Hardly any MLB team can have their pitching rotation go 8-9 deep. Save that stupid argument for somewhere else.

This is the same organization that developed (notice: develop, not all drafted), but developed the likes of Corey Kluber, Trevor Bauer, Carlos Carrasco, Mike Clevinger, Shane Bieber, Triston McKenzie.... and have Daniel Espino, Gavin Williams, Tanner Bibee, and others waiting in the wings.

Yeah, we need the pitching factory to really take their stride next year, the placeholders aren't keeping it up. Reason for our treadmill of mediocrity. I'm not shaming the entire organization. I think we are allowed to vent on the amount of punted games in a 1-2 game division race.

Owen Miller at 1B or DH is a WTF anymore too
