2022 Season | Series #39 | Guardians @ Padres | Aug. 23-24

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Padres score one run in 18 innings. Amazing job by the pitching staff. We should get two consecutive days off more often.

Great to see Jose doing some damage from the right side - he's been struggling from the right this year.

No Juan Soto again today - we caught the Pads at the right time.

I can't believe we knocked out Blake Snell; I didn't think we'd score at all against an elite lefty who has allowed six runs in his last six starts.

Quantrill was definitely motivated to show the Padres they made a mistake in trading him. Clevinger had a good start; 2 runs in 6 innings. I got the impression Cal wanted to do better than Clevinger to make a point. He was incredibly pumped to get out of the 7th with no runs allowed.

I'll bet Cal feels disrespected that the Padres traded him and five other guys for Clevinger.

Still can't believe Straw got two hits and neither were infield dribblers or opposite field bloops. And Naylor stole another base. I think he's trying to lead the team this year.

Great to see some home runs, especially in a park that doesn't give up many. That ball Oscar hit was crazy. I loved the shot of Kwan with both hands on his head like he was trying to keep his head from exploding.

20-12 since the break; best in the majors if I'm not mistaken.

Twins tie it up 1-1 in the third on a leadoff walk (grrrr), double, and sac fly.

De Los Santos filling that Neil Ramirez, Dan Otero role nicely, guy off the scrap heap who turns into a bullpen STUD for a year or two.

Almost forgot JEFF OR JOE MANSHIP
trying to remember when ramirez turned into a stud - he was a bp pitcher in the al

they had us winning two more games than the reds?

Unicorns definitely exist.

I actually identify as one.

I would like to publicly thank Luke Maile for becoming a good hitting ML C. It certainly helps the cause.

Baltimore fails to capitalize on a bases loaded situation, and Chicago is putting on a rally in the eighth.

It's 5-1 Chicago in the eight...two runners on, no outs.

Mateo GIDP to end the O’s threat. Pale Hose to 2 in the top of the 8th, with the rally still on. Think this one is over.

Edit: Jinx.

Astros add a run on a sac-fly. Fulmer pitching for the Twinkies.
