2022 Season | Series #43 | Guardians @ Royals | Sep. 5-7, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
CA stated prior to the season starting that this season would be one of finding out if some of these prospects can hack it. That’s exactly what they’ve done so not making any big trade(s) that would make it more difficult to find opportunities for these kids makes sense to me. This was never going to be an “all in” season. Hell, it’s been hard enough to get guys looks as it is.
I have a feeling the people upset we didn't trade for veterans are also the same people who like the emergence of Kwan, OGon and Gime.

They enjoy the fruits of giving the young guys a chance this year, but still push back against the labor required to find those juicy rewards.

They didn’t expect to have the division lead in August. I think, if you have the division lead in August, plans and expectations should change. Any time you have a good chance of making the playoffs, you should be at least a half in. Nobody was asking for all-in. They were asking for one more bat. Not one LESS bat.

The lack of trading for someone does not mean they didn't even attempt to. Deals fell a part, deal with it.

Also, how the hell do you know 'they didn't expect to have the division lead in August?'

Everything they have ever talked about has been competing while rebuilding.

sometimes...

..the deal CleFO doesn't make reveals & ends up with the best results..

...imagine if the alluded to trade for Mahle and Drury had gone through?.. the guardians would have two more guys on the IL while depleting the minor league system of at least that many & perhaps more guys..

c'est la vie...

Again, I wasn’t asking for the world. I was asking for +1 bat, not -1 bat.

I'm not sure what the expectations where other than getting prospects opportunities. They've done that and they have the division lead while doing so. How does it make any sense to deviate from that. The only thing they needed was a RHH 1B with some power. There wasn't many, if any at all moved at the deadline. Everything else can be addressed from within. At no point in time where they going to "drop" what they were doing in the name of "making the playoffs" which is exactly where they are right now without doing what you wish. How can you not be happy with what has transpired this season? It's not like I agree with everything, but damn, we're the youngest team in the ML and AAA. I'm pretty happy with that because I firmly believe things are going to get a helluva lot better starting in 2023.

Yeah I don't get why one would allow themselves to believe that they would abandon the plan to make a trade based on the sole purpose of making the playoffs when it has been evident for some time that they very well might make the playoffs with what they have.

I'm not saying we have to agree with everything the FO and Tito does. Everyone here knows I'm not a fan of this current lineup construction, but it's temporary and is definitely going to get better real soon. It's a good time to be a Guardians fan IMO.

Honestly the only Bat I want and I’m not sure he was available or asking price was the first basement from Arizona Christian Walker…..Hopefully he someone we may look at this winter
