The Royals are woeful at developing pitchers.

It began in Cleveland the moment Larry Dolan bought the Tribe. In his first press conference he said that the money was going to be invested in pitching. The results didn't happen immediately, because an org in this size market can't buy long term pitching, and it takes time to acquire and develop your own.

Then, once those pitchers reach the Bigs, you have to handle them with care.
