2022 Season | Series #8 | Padres @ Guardians | May 3-4, 2022 | 6:10 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looking at what has happened and what May looks like:

Minnesota has played five games against winning teams.

Chicago has played ten.

We have played twelve.

Minnesota plays three more games in May.

Chicago plays eight.

We play ten.

We play three games each vs Minnesota and Chicago.

*************

Schedule wise, the worm will turn in June.

We play three games vs a winning team plus eight vs Minnesota.

The Twins play nine before playing those eight games against us.

Chicago plays seventeen.

Which is dumber, sliding into 1B or ghost runner rule? Hard to say.
In general, the ghost runner rule, but Harold Ramirez sliding feet first into 1B last year may have been the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Edit: I can’t find the video but I believe it was in the 5th inning of the July 4th loss vs Houston last year. Anyone with MLB.tv should have access to the archive of the game.

I'd rather not see players dive into first on a close play.

I'd also rather not see them running into or jumping up against walls to try to catch fly balls.

But they do it and I have to applaud the effort. Better than watching players who really don't care.

Some players are athletic and graceful enough to do it without getting hurt.

Some aren't.
