Are folks happy with the D-Line?

Or would people like to see another solid DT signed?

Hard to say before the draft but I’d like another solid DT and another pass rusher. Last year was the only year Okoronkwo played every game. And I’m worried about his small sample size against a bad afc south.

I’m much more worried about our Lbs though.

I will not judge this accounts validity, but that font looks miiiiiiiighty sus...
ESPN is reporting it too AND the Panthers are talking and looking at signing DJ Clark as well!
Meanwhile back at Browns headquarters AB is sitting at his desk like…..

Anthony Walker is a good guy and is well liked by the team.

But the guy tore his quad tendon.

That’s a really bad injury. And quite frankly he might not be the same guy or even close to it.

Considering how well Walker had played last two years, how much he’s liked/respected in locker room, and how thin LB options are, I was hoping they would be able to bring him back on one-year deal.. But typically when a free agent makes a visit as such, it ends up in a signing..

I’ll admit, I’ll be disappointed if they aren’t able to bring Walker back.. Perhaps they see Takitaki as their MIKE moving forward.. Either way, would be a big loss..

Denzel Perryman would be at the top of my list as a Walker replacement next year.. Zach Cunningham may be a guy of interest too — spent last year in Tennessee..

I'll never be happy with the defensive line. Like the offensive line, it can always be better, and I believe it's an area of compounding results rather than diminishing ones.

I think 007/Winfrey/Dalvin/Myles can be quite good.

I would prefer to have a reliable DT we can turn to if Winfrey's lack of discipline rears its ugly head again this year.

Calais Campbell would be my ideal FA acquisition.

At the very least you need another veteran EDGE and iDL.. One injury to Myles, OO, or Dalvin and you’re right back in the position last year of having JAGS all over the line.. On top of that more depth = better ability to rotate guys in-game and keep them fresh during season/year.. Last year’s line put too much pressure on Garrett and Clowney to be everything..

They need to continue building out the depth, and hopefully Schwartz is able to help the development of the young guys along the line… Outside of Winfrey, Thomas and Wright, not sure any of the young guys are worth keeping..

Campbell and Ioannidis would be at the top of my iDL list, with Houston, Dunlap, Floyd and Fowler on the EDGE..

The Browns have demonstrated they don’t go after older players. I’d like Campbell too but I’m not convinced he’s a legit option due to age.

You're right. But that's bothersome to me at this point.

This isn't about changing the philosophy of the organization. It's one guy. We don't get extra points for having the youngest average age. The defense has sorely lacked professionalism and veteran presence recently. A guy like Calais Campbell would help in that regard on top of the contributions he would provide on the field.

I can't imagine he's commanding a huge dollar amount. I would really like to see the Browns pursue his services.

Just like going from Woods to Schwartz projects as a huge credibility boost to that unit, adding a guy like Campbell could provide even more of that.

They have taken a few shots at older players: Adrian Clayborn and Malik Jackson were a pair of gambles that didn't pay off. Malcolm Smith was a low cost gamble that did pay off for two additional seasons.

I'll say it again: this is an amazing draft for defensive line.
