Browns odds for Hopkins just moved from +550 to -150 on DraftKings
Which means lots of money was put down betting he'd come here--so DraftKings wanted to balance the wagers, encouraging bets on other teams (not sure if there's a bet they offer "not the Browns").

Remember, Vegas and sportsbooks aren't predictive. They're reactive.

That being said...

The Rams said Fuck Them Picks? Well, Andrew Berry says fuck that cash. Fuck the rollover cap. Fuck 2024. All-in 2023 baby. Super Bowl, Super Browns. Let's go. Amari, Nuk, DPJ, Elijah Moore, Njoku, Chubb... who can stop that? Let's go get Deshaun his MVP and get Cleveland a Lombardi

Kinda think if the Browns wanted Soggy Crouton (cause I refuse to call him Nuk) he would already have been signed…

If the Browns plan to let DPJ walk in free agency, then trying to trade him for a 2nd/3rd now and locking up Hopkins for next two years makes sense..

Otherwise, adding Hopkins makes too many cooks in the kitchen..

I know we tend to overrated our own players but there’s no way in hell we’d get a 2nd for dpj.

Pumped if we got D Hop. Doesn’t have to be THE guy here which makes all the difference. But he’s a guy you can rely on and count on, has chemistry with Watson as well.

While true it’s also pretty rare to see such an aggressive swing based on gambler’s whims

If it’s +550 to +450 then yeah, sure whatever

This tells me that either:

1. It’s a super thinly traded bet and it only takes a few browns fans to really move the line

2. There’s more than just speculation going on

Yep. Knowing that the model is reactionary, you have to then guess at what moved the line.

If it was very thinly bet, it very easily could've been a whale betting a shit ton on the Browns--and now the books want money to come in on other teams in order to cover their asses.

I'm fairly certain it's an incredibly thin bet. I can't even find it on FanDuel or DraftKings in Ohio.

It’s not that crazy if there wasn’t much money overall bet on it in the first place like you said.

I’d imagine that’s likely the case.
