Curious to see who they would tab to be that play caller. To my knowledge, no one on the current offensive staff has been a primary play caller in their career. Closest is Justin Frye, who had an OC title at UCLA, but Chip Kelly was calling the shots there.

Definitely a risk putting in a green OC when you’ll have a new QB next season.

Just bit the bullet and took a look at the Ohio State Rivals site (those freaks are even more negative than people here, if you can believe it lol). Austin Ward, who is super dialed in to the program made it sound like it’s going to be Frye getting promoted.

From what I’ve read, they will likely address CB during the May transfer window. Also looking to add a veteran OT.

Also forgot to mention that this may have been Larry Johnson's last season as defensive line coach. If he retires/parts ways, the leader in the clubhouse for the job will be Ole Miss DL coach Randall Joyner. Former OSU grad assistant who also previously coached defensive line at SMU.

He's been linked to the job by Austin Ward for close to two years. Not gonna say it's a lock but it certainly seems like there would be strong mutual interest between the parties.

Update on OC and DL coach:

Expectation is now that Brian Hartline will be OC. Announcement expected today.

Larry Johnson is supposedly staying another season now.
