2023 Guardians Spring Training Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When was the last time the absolute worst team in ST league won anything? Asking for a friend that doesn't put much stock into ST games, but it caught his eye.

I haven't seen any spring training lists sadly, but I know the 2016 Cubs didn't have a good spring lol

I think Brennan will see about 400 ABs... He will see late game defensive replacement over OGonz when we have leads. Pinch running for Naylor/Bell at DH etc... They will get his ABs in (wish they would list him as a two way player so he could also pitch again just to eat an inning here and there lol).
Would love to see a Vegas line on Brennan getting 400 ABs.

We're pulling up the rear with an excellent 6-12 record. Ironically enough the juggernaut KC Royals are 15-6. It has no bearing on the regular season whatsoever.........right? We're probably just deek'n 'em and making them think we suck so they take us lightly.

Spread over two seasons, yes.

Naw, he will get there this season...

Edit:

Mercado had 120 ABs... Palacios had 112... Benson had 55... Brennan had 45... Jones had 86... plus some more for Call and Clement...

OGonz had 362... Kwan had 563... Straw 535...

There is 1900 ABs give or take for the OFs... So 500ish for Kwan, Straw and OGonz with Brennan getting most of the rest...

In the around the league subforum.

Nice to have the subforums in here instead of just the single one we used to have, isn't it?

Anyone ever want to give a thanks to RCF and @Sebastian for doing that, even the smallest donation is appreciated.

Pretty interesting bunch going for the Guardians in the 1st game on a split squad day. Facing Zac Gallen of the Diamondbacks and what looks like most of their A-team but don't quote me on that as I am not that familiar with their roster.

1. Roman Quinn - CF
2. Tyler Freeman - 2B
3. Richie Palacios - LF
4. Oscar Gonzalez - RF
5. Zach Collins - C
6. Micah Pries - 1B
7. Meibrys Viloria - DH
8. David Fry - 3B
9. Brayan Rocchio - SS

P. Cal Quantrill - hope he has his stuff today.

1954, the Giants went on to win the World Series after a horrible spring training. Sadly, since then, the team with the worst record typically struggles to even reach .500, let alone come close to the playoffs. Team might as well just trade Bieber now :(

Hold on bro! Pump the brakes!

I know it’s changed in recent years, but this is the same organization who started Victor Martinez and Carlos Santana at C because they favored their offense at a premium position over their defense. Eventually yes they both moved, but both of them did catch initially. Just something I thought was interesting relative to the posters saying Diaz would never catch for this organization. I think that may have depended on how good his offense gets.

In all fairness, not much of that management remains.
