2023 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If the Cavs are going to find a way to package the second rounder from the Warriors and move into round one Maxwell Lewis is more than worth a look!

The Cavs don't have the assets to trade up into the first round.

Not sure it is impossible to get a top 25 pick . You have the Warriors pick , future second rounders plus, the rights to two young international players who played well this year , the other Mobley, ( a team might be interested in Lamar Stevens) plus cash considerations . It would have to be a guy they really liked though.

The draft lottery is going to be hilarious. I can't wait to see the faces of the representatives who barely miss out on the first pick.

I was digging through some draft stuff and wanted to ask the draft heads here. Thoughts on Sidy Cissko. His range is kind of wide at early 20s-high 2nd round, but I think we could buy a pick in that area. He seems like a very solid candidate for what we need at the wing reading his profile, but I will defer to the wisdom here

Sidy reminds me of AJ Griffith (probably more physical movement and profile). If hes gettable, I'd definitely do it. I dont think he will be, though.

Miller has tons of upside on both ends of the floor…

I know he has his fans, but I can't really see Jaquez as an NBA player? He feels like a guy who would be great if he was either bigger or more athletic. Really smart player, makes a ton of winning plays, I could definitely see him proving me wrong and sticking around in the league somehow. But for me he's probably an undersized 4 who isn't a good shooter and doesn't have the foot speed to play on the perimeter. Tweener forward in the negative sense.

I agree for the most part but look at the Memphis bench for example . It’s full of guys that many thought were not athletic enough to play. I doubt he is ever a starter but if you can do a couple things well and play hard you give yourself a chance to make a 15 man roster as a glue guy. That being said his upside is def limited and he will likely be a guy that is always fighting for a minutes.

Yeah, I think he's just about perfect as a 13th to 15th man who fits in every possible lineup as a glue guy who does the little things. But Northwestern made a big run to get back in every game by running pick and rolls with his man to force a switch, then iso him off the dribble. If Big 10 guards can do it in a cramped college floor, just imagine NBA teams.

He's not going to get any taller, although if he gets in amazing shape and gets a bit more athletic, it could be game changing for his career.

I just don't really see a realistic way that he gets over his limitations with the way the game is played now. It's a shame because I really like watching him play and he's definitely a talented guy, I'm just not sure he's a fit with where the league is going.

You just described Draymond Green.

Probably an amazing career in Europe making good money. Not a bad life.

Draymond Green is underrated as an athlete & has incredible length, which makes up for lack of height. I still don't understand how he fell to the second round.

@ChicagoCavFan had a thread in that draft pounding the table for Draymond.

Three major hurdles for Green at the draft was his questionable shooting range, baby fat as a senior prospect, and ahem... personality.

To his credit, Green eliminated the first two issues through hard work. There was still a belief that Harrison Barnes would be the more valuable forward until about halfway through their second year on the Warriors.

You just described Draymond Green.
Completely different. Even fat college Draymond had better movement skills and physicality that I'm not sure Jaquez will ever reach, not to mention the long wingspan.

Don't think Jaquez will ever be strong enough to guard 5s as well.

It doesn't matter if they're "completely different," or not. The words you used to describe Jaquez couldve easily been used to describe Draymond Green.
