I don’t expect much action in this thread. But, it is for the Cup and one of these teams will win their first.

It’s June and Lord Stanley’s cup is being contested in Las Vegas and Fort Lauderdale. Crazy.

Yet another year Canada won’t win it.

Didn’t care much about hockey until my oldest played it for a couple seasons as a mite. He decided to quit (thank god for our weekend plans!), but I found I really enjoyed the sport. So I’ve been watching the playoffs a bit.

Related quandary: I’m a transplant NEO now living in the Boston area. I’ve successfully made my oldest a Browns and Cavaliers fan (working on Guardians, but he’s been to a few Sox games so might not win that one) - is it okay for me to become a Bruins fan? That way we can actually both cheer for a local team.

I say why not. Of all the Boston/NE teams that is the only one I am neutral toward. Plus, the Blue Jackets are the only Ohio team and they were created when I was in my 20s. I can’t get into them.

an expansion team in its 6th year of existence is winning their 2nd cup appearance and the Blue Jackets are about to hire a coach that is such an awful human being he got hockey players to step up and say “enough dude”

Cleveland was once a great hockey town but a series of very unfortunate events in the 70s killed that.

We were also in danger of losing the Indians and the Cavaliers in the 70s - 80s. Our market is now much smaller (relatively speaking) than it was back then. Continuance of our pro teams can never be taken for granted. Fortunately the Cavaliers draw well and have a solid heritage and the Browns are solid here.

Well two blowout wins for Vegas. If something doesn’t change quickly, it will be a short series.

These Golden Showers are really starting to warm up the ice…

I have Vegas in 5….
