Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Chet's injury history is why I can't buy a Thunder dynasty.
The 15 draft picks that could yield at least 3/4 higher picks and a couple role players when consolidated/traded is why I do buy it. No one is on more than 40 million other than Shia at the end of his deal and Presti is drafting so watch out.

No one is better positioned once the second apron starts to squeeze. That day is coming mid-term for the Cavs and short term for Boston/Bucks and other aging teams.

Thunder will have many shots to get it right and can shoot for the stars on many picks. Could anticipate rule changes around how imbalanced they have made the league with young talent since they can’t even roster the picks they have in the pipeline.

Too many assets chasing lack of impact players. He better hit.

Question what if we get the last 2 games play from Strus more often…..I know there going to be some WTF moment, but tell me what Cam Johnson bring more that will call for us to possibly trade Strus and Tyson and future round 1 pick to bring him here……

This goes back to a point I've made many times. What do we need from the 5th starter that we aren't already getting? Whose shots is he taking? None of the core 4 need less shots. LeVert is killing it this year so you don't take shots from him. Max, Dean, Niang, Merrill, and Okoro are all settling in and contributing. We have no need to improve an offense that is already historically great. Does Cam make us that much better on d? Maybe. But his salary is more than any tradable player we have and we are already looking at an expensive future. Yes, he's better than anyone we are talking about trading for him. He would make us better If we can get him without losing too much. But that's the rub. How much better would he make us and at what cost?

From the Fedor/Sands podcast after the Raptors game:

I feel like the option of Max Strus being able to come off the bench and just provide so much that he does, the shooting, the speed, the pace, just the physicality and the toughness and the leadership, I think it also shows that the conversation for Max Strus to come off the bench for a majority of the season is still up in the air.

And Kenny talked about that in his post game. He’s not committed to Max coming off the bench, but he loves it and it’s an understanding that Dean Wade doesn’t take shots away from anybody in the starting unit, right? He is a low volume, low need kind of guy that can add so much on the defensive end and still space the floor...

I asked [Kenny] about what Max brings to the table. He said that he plays like a two-way player because of how hard he plays. He’s acting like he’s still fighting to make his name known....this is going to be another conversation down the road when Isaac Okoro is healthy again.

For Max to be able to impact the game as much as he has coming off the bench, he’s he hit nine threes over the last two days off the bench. I think that’s actually a viable option and reason to keep them there, not only as a playmaker, as a shooter, but as a leader off the bench as well...

There’s the other side of this too. It’s that what they’re getting from Dean Wade in the starting lineup is really important to their success. So it’s not a situation where you feel like you’re missing out on something by having Dean in the starting lineup or by looking at it in a situation where we don’t have Max in the starting lineup, so we’re missing this, this, this, and this.

They’re 26-1 with Dean Wade in the lineup in any capacity, and I think it’s now 16-1 with him as starter. Like he’s really, really good. And he’s really, really impactful...

I still think Kenny Atkinson is weighing all of this. Is that the best role for Max? Is that the best thing for the starting lineup? What’s the best two man combination for Max? Do we try and get him out on the floor more with Evan or do we try and get him out on the floor more with Jarrett? Do we try and get him on the floor more with Donovan? Do we try and get him on the floor more with Darius? Like all these things, the Cavs are still trying to figure out because they just haven’t gotten as many opportunities with Max because he wasn’t there in the preseason.

The East is 76-89 against the West. The West is still the stronger conference, but the East is gaining ground.

Last 10 games:

Cavs 10-0
Pistons 8-2 (Bickerstaff has them cooking)
Knicks, Pacers 7-3
Celtics, Heat, 76ers 6-4
Four other teams 5-5

In the West only 5 of 15 teams are over .500 in their last 10.

I was pro "Max starts when he comes back" largely because of what Wade means as a backup big. But I'm shifting toward - if it ain't broke don't fix it

Four tough games coming up. The first two against the Pacers who have won 10 of 13 and look where they are on the chart in the last post. Then OKC and Minnesota on the road. OKC is 17-2 at home and the T-Wolves are 10-7.
