2024-25 Season | Game #20 | Cavs @ Hawks | Nov. 29, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I guess ESPN knows their stuff. I was pissed last week when they put Boston at number 1 in the power rankings with 3 losses to our 1 loss at the time

There was an argument we were the best team in the league at 17-1 but I never believed anybody but Boston is the team to beat in the East.

Three of their starters were starters against the last LeBron Finals team. They also have Jrue and Derrick White is a very good two way guard. Their playoff experience dwarfs ours.

I also think Atlanta has some fine young players and they will be rising in the standings. They‘ve got wins over both Cleveland and Boston.

Mobley keeps getting better but a big physical center like Capela gives Allen problems and our defense has been declining as the season has gone on, though much of that is attributable to losing our wings. We need Dean and Max back.

We‘re still not quite through 1/4 of the season. Long, long way to go.

If Mobley doesn’t magically become our best player we are fucked. We’ve seen the best of Mitchell he’s already on the decline. Nowadays his hood or bad games are predicated on how hot he is from 3
Isn't he already our best player? Only person left to convince is Mitchell. Good luck with that.

  • So, it was a bit puzzling to see the Cavs not play through Mobley more to start the second quarter. The Cavs went 0-for-5 from deep while Mobley had 1 shot attempt.
  • Kenny has talked a lot about shot quality – he’s more concerned with the quality of the look than anything else. Within that, there’s also the nuisance of understanding the flow of the game, and what’s working and what’s not. Yes, you want the Cavs to keep shooting but throwing shots up when they’re not going on, and not trying to switch how they play, is the adjustment we’d like to see them be more willing to make.
  • The lack of an alternative to Niang has allowed Jayton Tyson to get some minutes. In 4 2Q minutes Tyson had more rebounds (2) than Niang had the whole game (1). Tyson is still finding his way offensively, but it seems like Kenny is hoping his energy, effort, rebounding and willingness to defend can get himself and the rest of the team going when he’s out there.
  • We’ve talked about playing inside out when the Cavs struggle offensively, and they really took that to heart in the second. The Cavs did not have a shot made outside the paint through 9 minutes into the 2Q. Unfortunately, that was more so because they couldn’t get anything to go down then an adjustment in style of play.

Mitchell joins Garland with a awful performance in the cup. Wade is a big loss vs this team. Nor are Mitchell/Garland pair sustainable without length at 3. Depth and length at 3.

I thought the turkey was last night....Cavs offense is a mess right now. Go watch and early season game and look at the difference in decisiveness and movement

first crisis in the Atkinson era

I for one appreciate @Comeback kid ’s insights on Dean and I suspect I’m not the only one. Of course he’s a fan of his player but there are at least one or two posters here who aren’t 100% objective when it comes to players.

Thank you 2 for the Brew and the several others who posted and liked to express appreciation for a bit of news. As you probably suspect I post very, very little of what I hear or know. And I try to be very careful. Not perfect of course. But to protect players, the team, and yeah even myself I usually post with two hands tied behind my back! There are several posters that I do enjoy reading their insights into the Cavs. And i also understand that fans are fans.

I’ve also shared that no matter how big your ankle is or how much dried blood is on the bottom of your foot ……that they need you and it’s time to get back to playing!

We’re all anxious for Dean to return because his defense is sorely missed. Against Atlanta we had some offensive woes but for me the second half issues were more our inability to get stops and go on a run. On cold shooting nights our defense can keep us in it and get some easy transition buckets of our own to help get the offense unlocked. It would have been nice to have Dean tonight.

The fact that the Cavaliers are being very cautious with him is evidence of his value. They know his absence in most of last year’s playoff run left a big hole.

We know you can’t tell too much about the team but the info you do post is nice. Looking forward to Dean at home Sunday. I have his last regular season home game vs Boston on DVR which was such a fantastic night for him.

I prefer Tyson to Niang, of course. But I'm not too convinced Tyson can be anything but a slightly smaller, slightly better Lamar Stevens. Team should be looking to swing big, when the opportunity arises. Garland and JA are available.

Okoro has been butt terrible since his 3-4 start. 0-10 and playing crap defense against that length.
