2024-25 Season | Game #5 | Lakers @ Cavs | Oct. 30, 2024

Most malt liquor comes in a 40oz bottle, commonly referred to drinking a 40 in urban environments.

Early in college I used to drink 40oz St Ides or Mickey's

$1.19 per 40 in 90's.
I was absolute swill, but I could afford it.

You must be too young for the “Crazy Horse”. And what about some nice SCHLITZ (the Red Bull and the Blue Bull)?

I’m beginning to think you haven’t LIVED…

Back in the day my man Jim Brewer was a spokesman for the official Cavaliers beverage - Genesee Cream Ale.

Schlitz was awful, gave me the shitz, dont remember crazy horse to be honest.

I mean ther eis a ton i remember. Colt 45, Old English, Cobra, I just drank those 2, mainly St Ides to be honest, used to get me drunk.

My college days started in 1990. so I am old enough, just drank the ones I liked. Cant stand the crap now, its all craft beer now for me, and not often.

What’s the evidence for this?
There isnt any. From what ive gathered its speculation by an amateur analysist that breaks down cavs games and is good at that. So people have run with it assuming its true. So far there is nothing to support the rumor

Ah. I've never lived in an urban environment, although I had friends who did. I'm out of touch with them for probably 30+ years.

Turns out, you and I are exactly the same age. So, we speak the same language. Forgot about the Cobra! That was a TASTY one!

Finally, we have NBA's top ten from Wednesday night. Guess which Cav made it and at which number? (Hint: It's a good one!)

They called 26 fouls on the Cavs and 7 on the Lakers. With the Cavs playing at home. What the actual fuck is THAT? That seems AWFULLY blatant.
I think there have been more posts complaining about the foul disparity than about how well the Cavs played. It actually got a bit tiresome in the game thread.

So ... what about the foul calls themselves? Were they that bad? Is it possible that the Cavs just fouled more? I didn't notice that many bad calls, but then again, I was so excited about the Cav's play and the game never really seemed in doubt ... so maybe I just wasn't very observant!

Cobra was thr other swill I'd get in college with the spare change from the dorm couch cushions. Just as bad as Lazer (Lazer lazer). Colt 45 and Old E were too rich for my blood.

It retrospect, those were bleak times.
