2024-25 Season | Game #73 | Spurs @ Cavs | March 27, 2025 | 7:00 p.m.

Bitchland like to shoot shots early to get into the game, missing Allen, who puts his head down. Then later on Garland comes looking for him and he pouts.

Cavs win! Great game; I caught the last 3 minutes on Cavs radio, 1100. I can pick it up in my car here in Peoria.

Their bench beat ours, but our starters beat theirs. Several great performances tonight, but Jarrett Allen with 27 points in the 2nd half led us to victory.

We outshot, outrebounded, and outassisted them. Game over man, game over.

Didn’t get to watch. Sounds like it was pretty ugly until JA took over. In the end, another win that gets us closer to wrapping up #1 seed.

This looks great! @shoes22 thank you again!

Ugly win as the Cavs missed 31 three-point shots and allowed 19 offensive rebounds to a team that didn't have anybody over 6'8". But you have to like the way they knuckled down in the final three minutes and figured out where to go with the ball.

Tied at 112 with 3:00 to go:

Allen 2 free throws
Allen blocked shot
Allen 3-point play
Allen defensive rebound

Cavs now up 117-112 with 2:00 to go.

Mitchell looks to be fully recovered as he played 35 minutes with a line of 25/8/14. After watching him throw down a two-handed slam with power there's no question his groin is no longer bothering him. He also went 4-for-9 on 3's so hopefully he's coming out of his shooting slump.

Okoro was strong off the bench with 9 points and 4 rebounds for a +10 in 19 minutes. Strus was 7-for-10 for 18 points in 29 minutes. Javonte Green was huge with a +15 in 9 minutes as he grabbed 5 rebounds when the Cavs were getting murdered on the defensive glass.

We needed something from TT tonight with Mobley down and he got himself kicked out of the game. What a moron. But it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened because if forced Kenny to put Allen in.

Speaking of Allen, he played the last 8:39 of the 4th quarter and scored 21 points. It's not like he played the whole quarter. We got lucky that the Spurs' didn't have a center, unless you consider the 6'8" Biyombo a center. I'll bet Jarrett would love to play the Spurs every game as long as Wemby is out.

Thunder are destroying teams the way we wish the Cavs would. Team lacks energy with the usual suspects fading over the season. Its why long lengthy athletes who hold up over a season is a skill that is very underrated. Thunder are just a physically superior specimens compared to the Cavs with the best scoring guard since Michael. Cavs look to be in for a long period of playoffs with no championship.

JA is like a lot of NBA big men over the decades.

When you involve him in the offense he plays better on defense.

Nobody likes doing all the dirty work and not getting any gravy.

Athletes need those adrenaline rushes during a game. Nobody bats an eye at "shooters need to shoot", or guys getting fired up from dunks, or players spiking the football after a great catch, or flexing after a hard tackle. But for some reason, big guys in basketball are just supposed to be these robots who play all those minutes and do the dirty work without any of that nice adrenaline to fire them up.

Feed the big men.

Individual stats:

Starters:
Strus 18-4-4 in 29 minutes
Wade 3-3-0 in 25 minutes
Allen 29-15-0 with a steal and a block in 30 minutes exactly. 10-11 fg, 9-11 ft, 3 offensive rebounds Star of the game.
Mitchell 25-8-14 with a steal and a block in 35 minutes. Fabulous game. Career high in assists, some of the spectacular variety.
Garland 10-4-9 with 2 steals in 30 minutes. Off night shooting, but good assists and 5 key points in the last minute.

Bench: 39-22-6 in 31 minutes
Merrill 13-2-2 in 24 minutes
Hunter 14-7-2 with 2 steals and a block in 31 minutes
Okoro 9-4-1 in 19 productive minutes. 4-7 fg, 1-2 from 3
