This fucker is just gathering data...
Totally correct. They’re more than capable.Right, Donovan did hit that mid range game winner against the Bucks, but it was off of a broken, bobbled-up play. And I don’t doubt that Garland has hit some. I guess my point is that it’s not their strength or comfort zone.
Now more of a general point: Whether we like it or not, during end of game situations, especially if your team is up, the play is give the ball to one of your best players and let him go iso. All teams do it. And in those situations, the shot that’s often the most available is the mid range shot just because 3s are gonna be heavily contested (or you don’t need a 3), and teams are gonna pack the paint to not give up layups.
Just listing several top guys off the top of my head, you can totally see the following guys creating a decent quality mid range shot just because they’re comfortable and are used to the shot: SGA, Tatum, Brown, Booker, KD, Luka, Ant. The Kings finished us off with DeRozan and Monk mid range shots during our losing streak. I actually even think LeBron not having a stronger mid range game has hurt him in these situations in his career.
You don’t NEED to shoot the mid range shot to win the game at all. But it’s a very potent weapon at the end of games that our top players are not strong at. Really hope it doesn’t come to bite us in the playoffs. Tonight, both Garland and Mitchell insisted on going all the way to the basket with a minute to go when the paint was packed. We all saw what happened
Yeah - meanwhile, my blood-pressure goes up…This fucker is just gathering data...
Uh, early bedtimes, bud.Not much activity here.
Friday night, maybe people have dates?
Ok that’s not it.
Mitchland egoWtf??? I turn it off with 3 minutes to go because I didn't feel like watching foul shots and staring at a tiny screen. Can we not just get the ball into the paint and have the clock be the enemy? Instead turnover and missed 3s? Disgusting.
Just ugly. I went back and saw the Hunter midrange jumper miss, garland floater make, Mitchell to Mobley turnover, garland slop layup trash shot, Mitchell airball 3, and then poor possession. Meanwhile they hit 3 straight 3s.Mitchland ego
What’s this thing called rest? Our training staff should have the boys in better shape it is April now. For the boys not to be in shape and need rest at this point again in the season is another example of why this training staff needs to go in the offseason.Regarding the Hunter small ball lineup: Mobley needed a rest and both Allen and Wade were unavailable. Spurs were small, quick and athletic so TT was not an option. Kenny didn’t have another option to insert as a big.

I was prepared to say great things about this game, especially how it started.
That 4th quarter was unacceptable. All the bad things that happen in losses were amplified: turnovers, dumb offense (FEED THE BIGS!!!!), and the worst of all, lackluster defense allowing shooters to go free. Repeatedly giving these guys space (even when you could chalk it up to tough shots).
Besides the moments when either one of Allen and Mobley are unavailable to go in lineups, the biggest vulnerability of this team is the lack of focus. That Evan Mobley could barely get the ball during that Spurs run on offense is unexcusable on a night where he was awesome.
Hopefully Dean Wade is back soon.
