2024-25 Season | Game #78 | Kings @ Cavs | April 6, 2025 | 6:00 p.m.

The NBA will announce tomorrow that those two points shouldn’t have counted.
Oh I know thats going to happen because they didn't want to do anything about it during the game.
The lame excuse will be that there wasn't a break in the action to address it. Which will be a lie because they can have play stopped.

DeAndre Hunter's overrated ass is not on that list...

This dude couldn't stop a sign...

Now, now @PIP. There’s 3 parts of De’Andre’s game that is very good.

1. He can shoot the hell out of the ball.
2. He can shoot the hell out of the ball….
3. He can shoot the hell out of the ball………

Sam at the effective "3" should be banned from all lineups. I would sooner see CPJ there, that it's awful. No excuse, both Hunter and Wade are there for that purpose.

And the refs: that overtuned actual offensive foul on Sabonis (usual garbage), taking away a Mitchell foul, giving Max a tech because he complained about a foul he didn't commit, and then allowing that shot clock violation bucket to stand without review.

Whole crew needs to be found somewhere in Medina County face down.
Everything you said regarding the refs I find infuriating to watch happen..and the NBA will make some ridiculous statement tomorrow or Tuesday..
But if KA is experimenting with small lineups it's not working.
Putting Merrill on Defrozen is no matchup and Strus's D isn't effective enough to do anything. Okoro should have been on him or even Green or Wade..once Mobley was switched up top on him he rushed his shot.
What I find baffling is something I have said and another member in here said..we are playing to our opponents style .
I see a lack of bodies on the offensive glass when we have the clear height advantage.
Lack of urgency on defense as when someone gets red-hot we aren't doubling them or running them off the 3pt line.
LaVine having 37pts is a huge no-no.
Cavs aren't hitting their FT's or running their offense..and yes they aren't hitting their own shots, so they should be attacking the mid range game more and running their offense.
The turnovers ,bad decision making needs to stop and stop now.
Where is the zone and why isn't KA utilizing a full court press at times during a game like this to disrupt other teams who get red-hot?

Sabonis bullied Jarrett Allen all game. I don’t understand how a dude his size gets pushed around so easily. And he knows it too - he was so uncomfortable and getting frustrated.

Sad thing is Sabonis isn’t even all that big. He plays tough but that’s all it takes to rattle Allen. Imagine if he had to play against someone like Z-Bo.

Same thing is going to happen in the playoffs. We better hope we don’t face a scrappy team that hits all their open threes or we’re getting bounced early.
Somebody posted earlier that Sabonis plays reckless. He's been leading with his elbows all game and borderline dirty. That overturned offensive foul gave Sabonis the greenlight to just be physical with no consequence.

You do realize that the playoffs are going to be physical and the refs are going to let stuff like tonight slide by with no calls.

And we better be prepared for it.

Why are the kings such kryptonite to the Cavs? I didn't see much of the game.

Unless Donovan and Darius play more team-oriented and move the ball around rather than making it about themselves and trying to get themselves going, this team is no different from last year’s team and is going absolutely nowhere

And the Pacers just took down Denver in Denver - they are playing really well and would be the likely 2nd round opponent.

About a week or so ago, I was crucified here for posting that you were a fool if you thought the Cavs were going to make the conference finals.

I will be pleasantly surprised if the Cavs can beat the Pacers in a 2nd round matchup.

It took a whole slew of things to lose this one.

Horrible shooting by the Cavs. 10-for-38 on 3's (26%) against the NBA's worst team at defending 3's. Mitchell and Garland were both 1-for-7. Merrill was 0-for-3 and Mobley 0-for-4. The four of them combined were 2-for-21, less than 10%. Embarassing.

Playing at home with a day off against the worst 3-point defense in the league the Cavs were putrid.

They were worse at the free throw line, going 11-for-19.

The heave by Ellis from halfcourt at the end of the half that banked in was a clue as to how this would turn out.

Sabonis punked Allen and Mobley with a line of 27/9/7 on 11-for-15 from the field. It helped that the refs were OK with him throwing elbows to the head to get his shot off.

LaVine gets in the zone sometimes and he did tonight, making his last 12 shots. The Cavs helped him out by having Strus guard him, which is like having nobody guard him.

Okoro was a +20 in 18 minutes in the first half but hardly played in the second despite DeRozan and LaVine absolutely killing us. I guess Kenny wanted the Kings to win. He left Strus in there to get abused on defense.

The Kings had a 21-4 run in the 3rd and the Cavs couldn't do anything about it.

I don't understand how the Kings have lost 12 of their last 17. They have a ton of talent. Sabonis, DeRozan, and LaVine combined for 92 of their 120 points. They totally outplayed everybody on the Cavs.

The Kings' starters all played 40-42 minutes. They need to win to stay ahead of Phoenix for the last playoff spot and they played with great intensity.

The Cavaliers are playing like crap, to be honest. 16 turnovers. Passes slipping through hands. Blown layups. Missed free throws. Bricking uncontested 3's right and left.

The good news is that Jerome is back and he went 9-for-13. Wade also get a few minutes and made as many 3's as Garland and Mitchell in 2 attempts.

Listening to talk about Garland being the best "clutch" player in the NBA makes me throw up. Tonight he missed two late 3's and a wide open floater from 10 feet. This is normal for him.

I mean it's a really dumb statement. You were crucified for good reason.

To suggest someone is a "fool" for thinking the 1 seed in a conference can make the conference finals is extremely hyperbolic.

This game was more than that. The officials blew calls that cost the Cavs the game. That happened in the playoffs, its bloody murder.
