2024-25 Season | Game #80 | Cavs @ Pacers | April 10, 2025 | TNT | 7:00 p.m.

Pro: We made it a really fun game and most rotation guys (Hunter, Jerome, Merrill) looked great. Almost had em!

Con: Rook had a ton of chances to contribute and came up empty, including that last slop shot. Pick it up Jaylon!

Yeah, Tyson made a ass of himself
Totally.

Cp can be traded for a first round pick easily this off-season.

I think Kenny will be all over the refs these last few games trying to create a narrative that the Cavs don't get whistles (which there is some data to back up) no stakes in the games means he can do it without huge consequences

I know i wasn't supposed to care about winning or losing a meaningless game but they played so well that I really wanted them to pull that one out. They deserved it. It pained me to see Sammy and Ty get pulled while they were scorching hot. Can't wait to see how they play tonight.

It's amazing that we had a chance to win at the buzzer. If Hunter rebounds like this in the playoffs we're in great shape. 11 boards!

Okoro had an open 3 at the end that barely grazed the rim. He's made himself into an OK 3-point shooter from the corner but don't ask him to take one from the angle.

Porter had 16 points but his 4 turnovers and several blocked layups hurt. He and Green were -13 and -14.

Jerome was incredible; 24 points in 26 minutes with 6 assists and a +13. He and Hunter were the stars for the Cavs.

I had no idea of who Jarace Walker is but he saved their bacon, hitting 6-for-7 off the bench for 15 points. Turns out he was the #8 pick in the 2023 draft.

You forgot to mention Sammy. He was flame throwing in the 4th quarter.

I like Craig Porter. A lot. I liked him last year, and I still like him.

Moving forward, this dude's gonna need to be integrated into the rotation. Somehow.
Let me repeat this. I LOVE this kid's game. I hope we can re-sign Ty Jerome th8s summer. But if not, I'm not worried. It's quite possible over the next 5 seasons, he could end up being the better player.

It really was and I'm not being sarcastic

I hate the term “moral victory” partially because we never hear about “moral losses”.

I apply this thinking to any game: Do we feel better or worse about the team after last night’s game?

I’d say better for three reasons:

- The second team came with energy and skill. We saw some cool shit from Hunter and Sam and Wade et al. Ty was a beast.

- We got a chance to see what we’ve been facing the past few weeks. When you sit your starters the bench gets a rare chance to shine so it’s not just another game out of 82. Shorthanded Teams facing us are motivated because we’re #1 in the East and the scrubs can really shine.

- Our starters saw that effort & hopefully they get inspired. We’ll need total effort from our guys in the playoffs.

I share your disappointment that we didn’t win but it’s more for the guys than for me and they probably felt pretty damn good that they we the better team until we cleared the bench.

That was a fun game with our backups and a motivated Pacers. I am on the road and was happy I got to see it. Stay healthy and lets get these playoffs rocking

  • Jarrett Allen still has his goal of playing 82 games, to which Kenny Atkinson said he’s glad to oblige, and along with him was Ty Jerome, Sam Merrill, Dean Wade and De’Andre Hunter. As of right now, those are your top four reserves come playoff time around Allen.
  • Ironically, that 5-man lineup had played 11 possessions together before the Pacers game and was a -27.3 per 100 possessions. They ended the game adding 22 more possessions to those stats but kept pace with a -5 in their time together.
  • Kenny Atkinson ended up using 17 different 5-man lineups throughout the game with Jerome, Merrill, Wade, Hunter and Isaac Okoro being used the most and Jerome, Craig Porter Jr, Wade, Hunter and Allen, and Jerome, Merrill, Okoro, Hunter and Tristan Thompson being the two most productive lineups of the game at a +5.

Are you serious? Either you're just BS'g or you're the site's biggest fucking idiot and a mean-spirited one as well. How did you get to be an "Honored Elder" or did you make that up? Like another fucking idiot in the White House who tells lies about himself.
Ya know, Pip's not that complicated. Very funny, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out his humor. So I take it you're not a rocket scientist?
