2024 NFL Regular Season

These Germany teams are actively attempting to Out-Browns us.

Pittsburgh just called an almost perfect fake punt play from deep in their own territory. Wide, wide open.

And just the most awful drop you'll ever see. Brutal.

What are the rules on a muffed punt?

Doesn't the entire process of the catch have to be missed before the kicking team can recover? As in, doesn't the ball actually have to hit the ground before you can, as the kicking team, interfere in the process and try to get the ball?

Shine really wearing off the Darnold led Vikings. He's turning back into a journeyman.

But the Jags boast just a terrible collection of offensive talent at the skill positions and can't score. This might be the game that Pederson gets fired if htey lose this.

Lol at every idiot Steeler fan wanting Tomlin OUT. Dude doing things that even Sean Payton couldn't figure out.

I think there is very much a reason many Yinzers want Tomlin fired. Not sure exactly what it is. Might be something about him as a person they don’t like.

Cannot qwhite put my finger on what it is though.

They haven't won a playoff game in 7 years.

It doesn't need to be turned into anything more than that. It's a franchise that wins lots of championships and hasn't been close for a while.

The absolute biggest black eye of the entire Tomlin era was the hiring and sticking with Matt Canada. He was such a bad offensive play-caller and it really held the team back.

He's been a killer this year, though. His gambles have been on point.

Even today he called a fake punt at like the perfect time. Washington was completely not expecting it. And Wilson has been absolutely the right call all the way.

I wonder how Matt Canada's offense would have looked with an NFL quarterback.

Canada was the easy scapegoat because no one wanted to admit the quarterback from the local university was grade A dogwater.

Well, he had Ben Roethlisberger and that offense was bad enough that the fans were crying for Ben to retire. Then Mitch Trubisky.

Not to mention, they fired him and the very next week the offense went for over 400 yards for the first time in like two and a half seasons.

Literally the next game. And then the interim OCs managed to make Mason Rudolph look like a legitimate starter.

And it ain't like the current OC came into this season with two guys the rest of the league were pining for. Literally no one else wanted Russell Wilson. He was available for anyone to go get him. The Bears were doing everything they possibly could to get rid of Justin Fields. No one wanted him either.

I also don't get the sentiment that "no one wanted to admit..." Who? They traded the dude after 2 seasons when they spent a top 10 pick on him. Clearly the Pittsburgh Steelers admitted they made a mistake with the QB.

They just also happened to make a mistake with the OC that lasted longer.

Ben was like 40 years old and completely washed. Trubisky is also dogwater. I'm not saying Matt Canada is a good OC, but he (and Tomlin) had to overcome some extraordinarily bad QB play. And they did.

I assume you're talking about Pickett? He wasn't a top 10 pick.

Ben looked completely washed with Matt Canada as his OC.

Russell Wilson has looked completely washed now going on 3 years. Until this very moment.

Canada was responsible for a lot of players looking worse than they actually are. Guys beyond just the QB position, too. Najee Harris has just rushed for 3 straight 100 yard games. That's the first time he's done that in his career.

Pickett wasn't holding Canada back. Canada was that bad that anything outside of truly elite QB play was gonna look poor in his offense.

Tomlin, to his credit, realized it mid-season and finally fired him. Which was a first for Pittsburgh in basically its entire existence.

This is getting OT. This was about why Tomlin has been getting heat in Pittsburgh and it boils down to the Steelers having a fanbase that expects to compete for titles and the Steelers haven't won a playoff game in a long time.

Just went through this last week with a poster suggesting Deshaun Watson was only getting hate because he's black, not due to his awful play. Tomlin gets heat because of the lack of playoff success.

I'm sure there's some element of racism, but I think almost any coach is getting heat in the NFL if you that long w/o a playoff win. Most aren't given that much time to change it.

I always find myself confused at the hate Siriani gets. He's been the Eagles coach for 3 full seasons and now this partial season and he has a record of 40-19 with a trip to the SB. I think fans are just a bit unrealistic sometimes and it doesn't need to be chalked up to some vile motive.

Been watching a lot of Arizona this year to watch Harrison and he's so good at putting his hands up late. Already looks like a seasoned vet out there in that regard.
