2024 NFL Regular Season

How on earth is TJ Watt MINUS odds for DPOY

just unparalleled dick suckery after his little tantrum last year

Hopefully he continues to suck ass down the stretch so that gets put to rest, but absolutely shameful he’s MINUS odds in a wide open race

That's wild for someone who's been the third-best edge in his own division.

Even after last night’s game Watt is -125 and Myles is +2000

Talk about the squeaky wheel getting grease.

Hopefully the Steelers schedule not being full of the giants and jets down the stretch takes them out of the #1 defense spot (we did our part) and he stops getting such an overwhelming amount of credit for that

I literally just made this comment in the gameday thread, but I'll say it in here too...

I'm old enough to remember when Steelers fans cared about winning playoff games and Super Bowls. Now they only care about their star defensive player winning an individual award. Crazy stuff.

I think it's mostly that he's just the best player on a defense that has carried the team to a good record moreso than his own personal play this year. He has had a down year overall.

But it's more of a "why are the Steelers winning? Their defense is pretty good, and he's the most well known player on it" type of thing.

Cam Heyward has been the best player on the team this year.

Yeah, but NFL DPOY has never been that sort of award.

It's always been an individual award, unlike NBA MVP or whatever.

Not gonna pretend to know what type of team every single NFL DPOY has been on, but just a cursory look tells me they are very regularly on good football teams.

Now, should Watt be in the conversation this year? Probably not. But in the case of Garrett vs Watt, I have a feeling the Browns being a bad team is gonna keep Garrett from getting it.

Heyward should be the guy getting the buzz for DPOY from the Steelers.
