Ahh, you underestimate many here.

Other than anything about or coming from Watson being hot air and irrelevant, many here are comfortable with:

-Bringing Russ in
-Allowing full competition in the offseason and camp

+ there are people who fall on both side of being comfortable with:

- Not selecting Sanders if Ward is locked into TEN at 1
- Selecting Hunter as primarily wa WR but also as a unicorn game changer with some ST and Defensive packages
- Selecting Sanders if they do believe he can be a long term winner(while sitting in year one)

So, not sure why you made it sound like the Browns were about to bring in Aaron Rodgers and take the starting OG from Colorado at 2
Pickett having a legitimate chance to be the starter is by far the biggest issue I had with Los’ post

Why do people just assume Arch Manning is going to be a stud QB prospect.. wasn’t he benched this year ?
His last name.

Also purely speculating but I don't think he is going to come out after next year. He is a Manning so money isn't a driving factor, he is probably in no rush to enter the NFL and will have Eli, Peyton, and Grandpa heavily influencing where he ends up (if I had to guess). Will probably choose to start two full years in college before coming out.

To me that falls under offseason/early training camp competition. Which every player besides the guy behind Myles, Ward, and a few others will be told they have an honest shot at.

And to be honest, I am not hoping for or coping towards thinking Pickett will be a good NFL QB. But he's not without good pedigree and he hasn't sucked out loud near as much as some people make out to be

I’d love to see the cap gymnastics on a Russ deal just to read pages and pages of people saying the cap is real.

If people don’t want Russ or Cousins, then who?

If people don’t want Sheduer at 2, then who is the long-term answer?
I'm fine with Russ. I think he's the best option in a long list of bad options.

I'd rather trade a day 3 pick for a backup/reclamation project like Malik Willis, Will Levis or Joe Milton than take Shedeur with #2.

Assuming Cam Ward is out of the cards, Milroe is the only other QB I'm interested in. After that it's a Dart throw at people like Dart, Rourke, Shough, etc.

It's beyond time, unfortunately, to accept that a long-term answer at the QB position simply might not be in this draft for the Browns.
Not sure I’d agree with that..

But the one thing we likely can agree on is the opportunity cost in finding a long-term answer..

Will the Browns be in a better position next year to find a long-term answer?

Until they draft one and find one, it’s going to be the same discussion every year.. And the opportunity cost to find one is only likely to go up next year and that’s theorizing if the opportunity is even there..

Just can’t help but think anyone they take in the 2nd is not likely going to do enough to show they’re the QB and rule out taking a QB next year which essentially wastes a high pick this year..

To me, if they don’t view Sheduer as the guy and can’t get Ward, I’d almost prefer a mid-round draft pick going out for a shot at Willis than a high 2nd for Dart or Milroe.. At least Willis is closer to playing and more expendable if you’re back on the QB hunt next year..

Sign him!!!

Dean Wade mentioned in an interview that Sammy is one of the top three pure athletes on the team and "He was All State in Utah high school football."

I've heard worse ideas, gents... Mostly from @Triplethreat... but my point stands!

I think Willis is the perfect Stefanski QB. But wouldn’t you just take Milroe for the rookie deal? Pretty similar tape entering the draft…

How many good QB starters do you feel are in this draft?

I can’t agree on that one man

If it’s a Pickett year I genuinely just can’t be convinced it’s not an absolute waste of a year

The good news is I agree with your first paragraph and I think there is next to no legitimate shot Pickett is a starter (short of injuries)

I absolutely, 10000% see Andrew Berry falling in love with Hunter. Berry loves his WRers, and you can see the potential there.

I feel the same.

Carter is the better overall prospect, and I’d rank elite DE over elite WR on the pyramid, but Hunter is an extremely good prospect in his own right without any medical red flags that Carter may possess.
