2025 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think Deion has the pull to determine what team will or won't take his son. That strategy has really only worked for Eli Manning, and even then, there was another elite QB prospect in the draft (Philip Rivers). Maybe Elway? But again, there were other high-level prospects in that draft and a new football league that was trying to compete with the NFL for players. It was also in the 1980's lol.

If the Browns get a top 5 pick (looking likely) then I wouldn't mind a trade down a few spots as long as it netted a first in next years draft as well. Then take the best tackle they can. If we stay put in the top 5, its BPA. That likely means one of: QB, Travis Hunter, Tet McMillan (according to a lot of the rankings as of today). It's early though, and I expect more prospects to stand out during the playoffs and combine seasons.

So let's say that Shedeur is not an option for US which is looking like a forgone conclusion. Is Cam Ward worth sitting there and taking in the top 5?

That's a hard ass sell for me. Is investing a 2nd round pick or even a 1st round pick in Milroe with the intent to sit him for a year while we try and remain competitive worth burning an asset for?

If you're drafting Cam Ward with a 1st then he has to be your week 1 starter. I don't think he's week 1 starter ready to be dropped onto a team trying to remain competitive.

What is the argument to drafting Milroe where he is projected to be drafted if you're intent is to sit him? He's not a top end QB prospect or at least he's not a projected, sure fire top 5 pick of a QB. There will be QB's in 2026 who you can draft in Milroe's range who will project to be better right? There's also the potential to collect assets this year to move up in 2026 in what is projected to be a better QB class.

And before you start, no this is not an argument for Deshaun Watson. I'm not even talking about that. I'm talking about how the QB position in this 2025 draft should be valued. I just don't see a scenario where we take one high unless it's a reach.
We don’t NEED to draft a QB in 2025. But if we start Deshaun Watson week 1 or intend to play him outside of an emergency…then this team is completely unserious about their “title window” and is punting the season before it even begins.

We will need to either keep Jameis or find a different journeyman vet if we want to even pretend we have a shot at competing.

Milroe is not a 2nd round pick. He's probably a top 10 pick. Probably the guy I would take if I were the Browns. Especially if you could trade down and still grab him

Milroe is closer to a 3rd round pick than a top 10 pick.

He does. There are players in the league that can navigate their way to and from certain teams. Dion controlling where Shedeur plays has more weight behind it than Lavar pushing Lonzo to LAL. By a lot.

I would add Abdul Carter and Mykel Williams to this list of BPA. The goal should be to pickup a 2026 1st as well as coming away with one of,

Travis Hunter
Tet McMillan
Abdul Carter
Mykel Williams
Aireonte Ersery
Kelvin Banks

I would prefer to take and EDGE first and then take a LT with our next pick. I think we could take Carter/Williams and move up slightly from our 2nd to take Aireonte Ersery.

That's insane. The dude is going to measure in at 6'1", 220 lbs and run a 4.35. Someone is going to take him in the 1st round

Yeah, I know we all make jokes, but I hope @Los216 was being hyperbolic, cause Milroe is 1000% closer to a top 10 pick than a 3rd rounder. We can debate if he should be a 1st rounder but, unless he's a criminal or deviant, he'll have his name called on day 1.

No. The regime is the same. The same HC and GM that built this version of the team starting in 2020 is still here and is expected to be here next season. We just extended them both in June. They have won at least 7 games in all 4 seasons they've been here. A multitude of reasons has led to 2-8 so far and to be fair, we could finish with 5-6 wins this year. I think we win tonight, on MNF against DEN, and the finale against BAL who will probably be resting guys that week. That's 5 wins.

This reminds me a little of SF with Shanny and John Lynch after they went 4-12 after Jimmy G went out for the season. They didn't go crazy on the roster and blow it up. I don't think we're in for wholesale changes and I do thin that KS and AB have shown enough in their 4 years to survive this season.

If they haven't then the only option is to blow the whole thing up and I'm sorry but I do not think a blowup is in store after extending KS and AB 6 months ago.

On what planet do we expect the Browns to be significantly better next year than this year when the roster is going to be mostly the same?

I mean jesus fucking christ Los. You’re the one adamantly saying that Watson’s gonna start next year and he was the worst quarterback in the league this year. So how the heck do you expect the Browns to be better if the guy who was quite literally the worst QB in the league and is now coming off a blown Achilles is gonna be the starter again?

The circumstances next season are the same as they were this season. Try and win in our window. Even if you think the window is closed, we are in it now.

This is why I don't see them taking a QB with one of the first 3 picks. This is our first chance to inject some youth and highly drafted talent in 3 years and I don't think that AB/DePo will see the upside in trying to play both sides by stashing a QB in the top 65 and trying to win now.

Isn’t this exactly what Howie did for the Eagles with Hurts mere months after Berry was working under him?

He very well could have participated in and aligned with those preliminary discussions on finding a QB succession plan while competing, which is pretty similar to our current situation.

Jamies isn't coming back. If KS is back then Jamies is gone for sure. If KS is gone then Jamies is also gone and the new HC will find their own bridge QB.

Why not?

Certainly as of right now, he looks like a better player than Watson. So why wouldn't we re-sign him?

I’ll pass on shedeur. If he turns out the new the next mahomes, so be it

Jalen Milroe draft stock free falling tonight, holy shit

I think it would be wise for Milroe to go back to school next year.
