2026 Cleveland Browns QB Battle Thread

If the QB battle is to the death, I think no matter who wins, Browns fans are the winners.

If these QBs fight to the death, it will become a fight to the merely exhausted.

Watson looks like shit in those clips

Sanders looks better except for his feet. Those are bad feet.

Quit the nonsense Monken. Give Sanders the reps at QB1. No one gives a shit about Watson’s feelings.

At this rate, the Browns might start Milt Palacio at QB.

That would be absolute genius. Palacio was not only the backup PG on the Cavs 50 year All-Stiff Team...

...but he was the starting PG/Tank Commander for the 2002-2003 Cavs whose league-worst record got us LBJ in the lottery. So if we need a Tank Commander to get our franchise QB in the 2027 draft, Palacio would be the man.

I think it’s telling that after the MG trade we see Sanders getting more QB1 reps and we hear the mouthpiece of the Browns, MKC, suddenly say that Sanders has closed the gap.

The Browns were possibly placating Myles Garrett and/or any other vets by saying hey we will start DW4 if he gives us the best chance to win. Now you have a young team who won’t be malcontents if you play their peer, the young guy.

Sanders has been here all winter. He still has potential to be a low level FQB. Give him the reps this offseason and in camp, tell Watson it’s a youth movement and we want him to be the vet mentor. You don’t have to worry about Myles bitching and moaning.

This team is Carson, Jared, Mason, Quinshon, Harold, Spencer, E-Man, KC and Denzel B. Your vet is local good egg Denzel Ward. Those guys will rally around Sanders. The fans will at least have some excitement heading into the year. And if he sucks we get to draft his replacement. The Browns should name him QB1.

Now having said that, this is the Browns so I won’t be shocked if they do the boneheaded thing and start Watson.

Regardless who starts week 1, both guys will get a lot of snaps. What's our average number of QBs used per season...3 or 4? We'll see them both, Monk's just needs to make sure the team (or certain players) are not lost based on his decisions. Therapist Monken will have to be enacted.

I just want to finally move on from Watson. His acquisition and becoming a colossal bust led to us driving away the best QB we have had since the return, torpedoed the remaining prime years Nick Chubb had, and now pushed the team to move Garrett. He's a shitty person, a shitty QB, and I'm tired of seeing him representing Cleveland.
