A few more QBs that already have a year or years of experience and could play their way onto the list...

CJ Bailey, NC State
John Mateer, Oklahoma
Demond Williams Jr., Washington
Josh Hoover, Indiana
Jaden Craig, TCU
Byrum Brown, Auburn
Drake Lindsey, Minnesota

Did I leave anybody off? Let me know if there's someone else you'd like to see tracked throughout the year.

Left off because he's not playing college football next year but Brendan Sorsby will be in the draft and in the discussion of top QBs.

Here are the guys I think will come out that will matter in the draft

Manning
Moore
Sellers
Sorsby
Mensah
Maiava
Chambliss

I think Mestamaker, Carr, and Sayin go back. My guess is the rest don't matter but who knows how the season plays out for them.

Chambliss is the only one that I really don't see it with. Mostly due to his size. It would be Cleveland to pick the smallest guy available.

I agree with you that all the guys with multiple years of eligibility left are going to go back, and they should.

Sorsby, Chambliss and Maiava are out of eligibility, so they’re all in the 2027 draft.

I would be shocked if Arch or Moore went back to school for their final seasons, but who knows. Moore already surprised me once.

Is there any guarantee Sorsby will be in the 2027 draft? It felt like the NFL made his ineligibilty open-ended. Has anyone read/heard otherwise?

It's widely believed he will be allowed to enter the 2027 draft.

With that said, he's not someone that should really be in the running at all for the Browns. There will be several better options to choose from.

They’ll probably be someone we never even thought about that will jump to the top of the draft board

I put 17 draft eligible QBs in the original post. Throw in Sorsby and that’s 18.

I’m not sure there’s another guy that’s gonna come out of nowhere beyond those 18 that’s also draft eligible.

There are guys who are probably going to have great seasons, like the kid at Cal or one of the super young guys at Alabama and Tennessee, but they’re not draft eligible.

No guarantees but unless he does something further, I can't see him being excluded from the 2027 draft. He will have completed an unofficial year long suspension from the NFL in addition to the lifetime ban from the NCAA. He would have paid a significant price by the time the draft comes around and should be cleared to continue his football career.

One thing to remember is that whoever is the starter this year probably opens up next year as the starter as well. Even Baker at the number one overall didn’t start week 1.

Sanders could very well be the opening day QB in 2026 AND 2027. Even if Watson wins the job and is released in the offseason, Sander or Gabriel will have a leg up on any rookie for QB1 week 1 2027. From my seat, Dante Moore is probably the only one who could beat our Shedeur week 1. The rest likely have to sit and learn like any rookie.

What? Jordan Love and Pat Mahomes both sat their entire first year. I’m pro QB in the 2027 draft but that person could very well be our 2028 QB at the earliest.

Arch couldn’t beat out 7th round pick Quinn Ewers. Moore decided he needed another year of college ball. He wasn’t ready and who knows if he is next year? The rest of the guys on the list I put in the camp of Nussmeier and Klubnick, meaning they have a lot to prove.

As of today I would say it’s more likely our 2028 Opening day starter is already on the team, as they will have a big leg up on the completion next year having had a year in the system. That shouldn’t be a controversial statement.
