For general matters related to the Guardians regular season activity over the next six months.

First 10 games are against the Mariners, Dodgers (on the road), and Cubs. ESPN's Power Ranking has them 2, 1, and 7 in that order. My question is - how many wins do the Guardians need for the first 10 games to be considered a success?

You gotta try to come out .500 on paper... Though for the fans mental states, 5+ runs a game lol

The Athletic ranks the Guardians 23rd in their new Power Poll.

No longer is it a viable strategy to sleepwalk through the AL Central, allowing other teams’ uncompetitiveness and incompetence to pave the way to a division title. Not at least while the Detroit Tigers boast two of the best pitchers in baseball and the Kansas City Royals have the makings of a top 10 offense. It doesn’t help, then, that Cleveland had a fairly muted offseason, its only significant guaranteed move was a one-year deal for reliever Shawn Armstrong, along with a minor-league signing for Rhys Hoskins.

The Guardians' 88 wins last year ranked 10th in the majors. Not only that, but they were much better toward the end of the season and they haven't lost anybody from last year. Most of their players are in their mid-20's and on the verge of their prime years. How are they going from 10th in wins to 23rd?

But nobody can look past the fact that they were 28th in runs and did nothing about that in the offseason. The prevailing wisdom is that they got lucky last year and their luck will change.

OD lineup should be:

CF Kwan
RF DeLauter
3B Ramirez
1B/DH Manzardo
DH/1B Hoskins
LF/DH/1B Kayfus
SS Arias
C Naylor
2B Rocchio

My preference, if possible:

1. Kwan
2. DeLauter
3. Ramirez
4. DeLauter
5. Kwan
6. Ramirez
7 DeLater
8. Kwan
9. Ramirez
Interesting lineup, me I probably squeeze a right hand batter in there somewhere……..l

Success. Don’t get swept.

If we win four games or more out of the first ten, I’ll be happy.

I was also thinking 4-6 would be very good especially since 7 of those games are on the road against the teams that most Power Polls rank 1 and 2 in the majors. 3-7 wouldn't be bad.

We have one rookie starter (Messick), one near-rookie (Cantillo), and Cecconi has one year of major league experience. Cecconi has marginal stuff and needs precise location to survive.

Seven games to begin the season against arguably the two best teams in MLB.

No matter the results, it's seven games behind us that both Detroit and KC still have to play.

I'd dance with joy if the team was 4-6 after ten games.

“The spring couldn’t have gone better,” said Vogt. “We did a lot of things really well. We had a really good showing from our young players, both on our team and those coming soon.

“There’s a lot to be excited about. Our staff absolutely crushed it this spring.”
