It's an all or nothing move. Even good FT shooters can miss 2 out of 3 FTs but if they hit the first one, then they get all 3 points. Whereas if they shot all 3 attempts and only made on FT then they only get 1 point. Or if you are a bad FT shooter, you have an opportunity to at least get a point for your team.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. There are things they could do to change the game that could make it more engaging, like calling pushoff fouls and players who bait for fouls. I think that would have more impact than this.
 
My big wish is that the games would be officiated at the
same level for the regular season and the playoffs. Basketball
should not be a full contact sport.

And maybe travel calls could be born again.
 
Not our summer league team, but Luke Travers was playing for Milwaukee in the California Classic today v. Golden State "Blue"

2-7 for 4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists in 17:17 minutes. He did have a +25 for the winning Bucks though

You take away the corner three and watch defenses amp up. I don't see the NBA doing that. I think the NBA is in a bind. They probably want to bring back the mid-range game, but anything they do to accomplish that will likely cause scores to plummet. Wouldn't bother me in the least, but it's a horrifying prospect for a league whose stars are already being "managed" in a regular season that is already viewed as largely inconsequential.
 
I'm ok with them eliminating or widening the court. I'm also ok with them pushing the 3 back 5 to 10 feet. It's boring basketball at its worst.
 
Ernest Udeh Jr seems pretty interesting. He's not an offensive player, but he moves well and has size.

Is he a good screener? I'd love to see an energy big bruiser hang around and rebound.

I don’t see any downside to this potential rule change. I’ve wanted it for years. It doesn’t affected the projected points earned - it just replaces tedious one-point shots with higher stakes more exciting 2 or 3 point free throws, and speeds up a boring part of the game.

To get crazy, I would take it one step further. The player should shoot the free throw from the spot of the foul. Foul hunting from 28 feet? Well now you have to earn the point with a more difficult FT attempt. Purposefully foul someone on a wide open layup or dunk? Now they get an easy FT, discouraging fouls from preventing some of the game’s best highlights.

The issue here would be where to line up for rebounds. I think it remains unchanged when the shot is outside the key. If inside the key, and the shooter misses, it’s a dead ball and the defensive team inbounds.

But then why wouldn't the defensive team just foul the other team as soon as they inbound the ball? The offensive player would then have to make an 80-ft "free throw", with the odds being that the ball either goes out of bounds, or is rebounded by the defensive team.
 
Not a moment too soon! We have all had just about enough of LeDrama. I can't take another Rich Paul nothing burger interview. Nobody wants Windy flipping the argument to another unlikely landing spot for the King. Give me some ball already.

I want to see the worst of the Greenbergs calling play by play next to some veteran player who has never done it before. I want to talk myself into an undrafted rookie cracking an NBA rotation against all odds. And with the squad we have this year? I don't want to oversell or anything, but Summer League championships are forever.

Fuck I know Cam Hildreth!! He is the son of my regional coach from way back (like 28years). His dad was a bulldog defensively
 
Meleek looks like he needs to slow down, he's rushing. He did hit our first two point free throw.
