Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No, you're wrong again. If Cleveland didn't have Quantrill then I sure as hell wouldn't want them to trade for him at this time because there are numerous talented prospects that need an opportunity. Irvin is no Quantrill either and an extra year of a less valuable player doesn't equate to equal value. Tell me again how accurate BTV has been lately.

Baltimore trading for Irvin 2 yrs ago would have made sense. It doesn't now unless they intend to trade from their SP depth. Especially with all of NY, Toronto and Tampa being predominantly RH.

Thanks for trying to explain to me my "issue", but you're not qualified bud.

Well Baltimore said you have an "issue" since they traded for him... They agree with me rather than you... I mean why else would they have traded for him? They believe he will.be a mainstay in their rotation and that's that. You don't have to agree with them, but they get paid the bucks and we type...

Someone remind Snitker what player he manages on the Braves…
Absolutely hate Bauer and never cared for him but come on Marcell Ozuna is still on the Braves…

So he can't say 'no' to Bauer? He didn't go on a sanctimonious rant or anything there. While the Braves can't claim a high ground, they have a right now wanting to add a guy who is, at best, a distraction.

You think they would sign Ozuna back then knowing what they know now? That answer is obviously no.

Email from YouTubeTV. No more live lookins for me, sadly.

We have been working hard to renew our deal with the MLB Network to continue carrying their content on YouTube TV. However, we have been unable to reach an agreement, and starting today, January 31, 2023, MLB Network content will no longer be available on YouTube TV. You will also lose access to any previous Library recordings from this channel. Members will be able to continue watching select national MLB games via coverage on FOX, ESPN, and TBS through our Base Plan.

So is there a path to reconciliation for guys like this? Better yet, should there be a path to reconciliation? I don't want anything to do with them honestly, but I don't think it's right to condemn them for eternity if they've actually changed their behavior. How in the hell do you go about confirming something like that though?

Television

National

This will be the second year of the current seven year deals with ESPN, Fox, TBS, Apple TV+, and MLB Network; and the second and final year of the deal with NBC Sports/Peacock:[27]

During the postseason, the ESPN networks will air all four Wild Card Series.[30] TBS will then broadcast the National League Division Series and the National League Championship Series,[29] and Fox and FS1 will carry the American League Division Series and the American League Championship Series. The World Series will then air on Fox for the 24th consecutive year.[28]

Good summary of rule changes for 2023.

Rule changes

On September 8, 2022, MLB announced a set of rules changes that will take effect in 2023.[6]

  • A pitch clock will be introduced, including the following features:
    • A standardized period of 30 seconds between batters within each half-inning.
    • A timer between pitches of 15 seconds with the bases empty, and 20 seconds with at least one runner on base.
    • The pitcher must start his motion before the expiration of the pitch timer. A violation will result in an automatic ball.
    • The batter must be in the box and alert to the pitcher with no less than eight seconds remaining. A violation will result in an automatic strike.
    • With runners on base, the timer resets if the pitcher attempts a pickoff or steps off the rubber (collectively called a "disengagement").
    • Only two disengagements are allowed per plate appearance; however, this count resets if a baserunner advances. Mound visits, injury timeouts, and offensive team timeouts do not count against this.
    • On a third disengagement, an unsuccessful pickoff attempt will cause that runner to advance one base.
    • If a team has used up all of its allowed five mound visits by the ninth inning, it receives an extra visit in the ninth.
    • Umpires can provide extra time if circumstances warrant.
  • Infield shifts will be restricted:
    • The defensive team must have no fewer than four players in infield positions, with at least two on each side of second base.
    • All infielders must have both feet on or inside the outer edge of the marked infield while the pitcher is on the rubber.
    • Infielders cannot switch sides of the infield before a pitch is released.
    • If infielders are improperly aligned at the time of the pitch, the offensive team may choose to accept the result of the play, or receive an automatic ball.
  • All three bases will increase in size from 15 to 18 inches (38 to 46 cm).

Can someone please explain to me the reasoning behind increasing the base sizes?

To keep players from sliding off as easily, at least that's my understanding.

That's what I would guess. Try to limit the inadvertent overslides that result in outs.

They're probably also trying to increase base stealing which, arguably, is more interesting than sitting around waiting for a strike out or home run. I suppose the rules might also force pitchers to throw more strikes since walks will more easily end up on second base.
