So true but so weird to me, i know baseball is such a team sport, but you would think Trout and Ohtani would make any team a great, great start to a playoff team.

In fairness, last year was the first time both were healthy and productive. But yes, the Angels can't seem to assemble a complete team around these two, they just keep chucking money at FAs and end up with a mediocre team. Best bet is for the Gs to trade for both at the deadline and wreck this league.

If we can trade for Trout and Ohtani with a package around OGonz and Williams and keep Bibee plus the rest of the 26 man roster, then Antonetti and Dolan need to make it happen! We would have the best roster in baseball!

Unlike basketball, where one super player can carry a team...or football, where the QB can make such a difference...a quality baseball team needs a lot more than two super players.

Fans constantly criticize baseball players who are merely 'average', but if the Angels had more average players to surround their two superstars, they would win more games.

I've played for at least 10 MLB managers, and Tito is my favorite. Him and Buck Showalter stand head and shoulders above the rest. You just knew they had your back. You trust them. I appreciate the way they lead and the way they made me feel comfortable in my own skin as a player

I don't want to get into a conversation around this idea because it's obviously a fantasy, but I have a question. If Cleveland could afford to take on those salaries wouldn't it be more prudent to extend Bieber and pick up another FA or 2 in the offseason? I'm not suggesting anyone is better than Trout, but he's 31 yrs old I believe and struggles to stay healthy. Obviously one of the most dynamic players to ever step foot on a baseball field though.

In the end the idea is fun to think about, but I'm guessing it would set this team back for years. I always thought if Trout were traded he would end up in Philly.

Hoskins just essentially went down for the year with an ACL tear so now the Phillies INF may get shuffled around... Bohm to 1B and Stott to 3B?

I wonder if the Phillies will make a move for maybe a Guirrel who is on a minor league deal with another team...
