23 MLB Offseason News!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LOL! I saw that and thought here we go again. I also thought "you dumbass, they tried to trade you last year" so what makes you think they aren't trying again? I'm not even going to speculate how Cleveland could make it work, but his value had to take a hit with his 22 performance didn't it?

I think Lauer is just scratching the surface of his potential, but that's just my opinion. The difference in his delivery is remarkable and that improvement has really helped his cutter take off. Not to mention that his velocity is back. He's not expensive so MIL might be better off just hanging onto him.

Brewers need pitching depth though, would Curry plus Burns be too much or too little?

I can't honestly answer that. I'd be inclined to think the Brewers would just hang onto Lauer, but they lack upper level SP depth so I'm not really sure.

Way too little. Not sure what it would take... Allen, Curry and an good A baller?

He rather quietly put together a pretty good season. Doesn't hurt he's a southpaw, we could use one..

He does issue some walks, which could be a concern.. But if it doesn't get worse he's a solid 3-4 all day long. Maybe we can even fix him a bit.

Cleveland isn't giving up Allen for Lauer...

Rodon rumors remain rather sparse... He must be asking for a LOT.

With Verlander, the Mets have around $220m in salary for 9 players (I think closer to $230m, Spotrac hasn't updated Diaz' new deal 2023 salary on its front calculations page) and Cano's carcass, add another $35m for arb/pre-arb and $20m in benefits and they are already at $275-285m without breaking a sweat. Sooner or later Cohen will be bored with his toy.

Rumor is 6-year 30 mill ask ... may not get it but he is last of the big 3 ... and they went big.... Doesn't hurt to ask.

Why are their 18 teams in the lottery, 4 more than the NBA or NHL? Can the Brewers really move from their 18 slot to win the lottery? That’s insane.

All non-playoff teams get a crack at the #1 pick.

The issue isn't that the Brewers jump up but one of the top-4 non-playoff teams Brewers, Orioles, Giants, White Sox have a combined of just under 2% chance of getting each of the top 6 picks (2% for 1st, 2% for 2nd ....) - thus 12% chance one will jump up big and possible two. If you go to tankathon, you can simulate the draft and just running it for a minute, Twins popped into the first slot twice at .9% chance (but no other top team jump that much) -- it is all just chance. This year order can stay about the same. Next year 2 teams (like 10th and 15th can both jump into top 4). You never know.
