So this is were you can post your trade ideas and fantasy ideas!

We all know I'll be posting some stuff and @CDAV45 @Gson help me kick this off!

Go find a good deal that sends Straw out of town and we'll go from there.

Well make some! Let's see what you can think up!

It's very very unlikely Straw is anywhere but in the starting lineup in 23... How can you move Straw, while still upgrading the roster?

Real f'n easy. You have a better, more well rounded player in Brennan so you don't even need to go outside the organization to get better.
The cubs and the mets are both looking for a proficient defensive CF'er..
Either is fine with me.

You aren't just dumping Straw though... You have to get something back that we need... Can you get a RH power bat, a setup/high leverage LHRP, or a solid defensive catcher with team control for Straw? Cleveland extended Straw for a reason and they aren't trading him in 23, unless they get a steal of a deal... We all know that, even if we don't like it...

See if you can get a decent prospect. He's not worth much more than that if he's even worth that. What does he rank offensively when compared to all the other CFers?

WAR wise he ranks up there just fine... The FO is going to give him another at least, half a season as the starter... He will though lose innings if he struggles again like he did this season

@Gson @CDAV45

What are you guys willing to give up for Varsho of the DBacks? Also, if he could play first, I think he would fit this team perfectly...

From BTV his value is 88... would take a deal around Espino, one of Valera/Williams and twoish more players (I did Curry and Plesac). Would it be worth it to you guys?

I seriously doubt the DBacks come off of Varsho. If they would it would take 2 of our better prospects. I still prefer Jansen because I think he can be had for less.

Stop with this nonsense. That is no different then having the best offensive CFer who is also the worst defensively. It's a problem and that's not what I asked. I asked how he ranks offensively compared to the rest of the league's CFers?

He's ranked 9 out of 9 when it comes to CF... Problem is the stat you want, most people don't qualify for either because of innings or games played at the position.

Offensively, he has never been one for the stat sheet in a sense. His first what 4 months with us, he had solid BA, OBP, Sprint Speed and SB... Next four, he sucked... the last one he was back to being solid...

I am not also spouting nonsense... Straw was top 10 in literally every single defensive category at a premium position in CF... If we got the Straw we saw last season and the first monthish of this season... the .280/.360/.380 guy, he would a premier CF in all of baseball...

Now, I am not saying we jumped the gun on the extension, because I think we did, that being stated Straw is the starting CF in 23... We are literally stuck with that notion...

Now come twoish months in and we are still seeing the .220 Straw, he will lose his everyday starting role... He will still play every single game in some capacity, but he will lose his starts... I am not against moving him on paper, but the FO of Cleveland is not open to moving him. We are stuck, whether or not we like it...

Ps. I also had Straw as an utility guy in OOTP since he can play 2B and SS as well. I don't think he is 100% a starter cause of his bat, but this FO and management say he is right now...

I have changed my mind, do not trade Rosario/Plesac this off-season. They key to this off-season will be to sign and lock up TMac and Gimenez to long-term contracts and see what Bieber wants to do going forward, that's it, period. The goal for 2023 is to win another WC/Division slot and see what happens again in the playoffs (gain experience). Yet, the icing on the cake is 2024.

We can still trade Plesac and Rosario during the 2023 season when teams maybe more desperate at deadline and we see how our 3 stars for early/mid 2023 are doing Naylor, Rocchio and Valera. It will also give us more time to see how our late-2023/early-2024 prospects of Lavastida, Martinez, Noel, Bibee, Espino and Williams are doing in minors.

For me, the a playoff roster for late 2023/ early 24 of
C - Naylor/Lavastida/Hedges-Maile
1B - Naylor/Noel/Arias (super-utility)
2B - Gimenez/Martinez/Freeman
SS - Rocchio/Gimenez
3B - Jose
OF/DH - Kwan, Valera, Oscar, Brennan, Straw, Jones/Benson (w Halpin getting closer)
P - TMac, Quant, Bibee, Williams, Espino, Bieber, Morris, Allen
Relief - Clase, Stephan, Vargas, Kar, Hentges, Santos, Morgan, Miko/Misieszek or Curry/Cantillo/Battenfield (for legnth that Pilk/McC gave you)

Is incredible to lock in and see what you have. Thus,

Off Roster - Hedges (sign closer to opening day), Maile, Gose (as 41st), trade 2-3 of McCarty, Pilkington, Gaddis, Santos, Palacios, Benson (for fliers and more important space)
Add - Martinez, Cantillo, Battenfield, maybe Hankins/Miko

If you can swing a trade - look at Huff (C-1b) or Hunt(C Tampa-AA),

Mid-season trades
Rosario - Value to Cle is placeholder to Rocchio......Value to other teams - mid-season injury SS replacement
Plesac - Value to Cle is placeholder to lengthened Morris.....Value to other teams - injury replacement
Civale - Please holder to Espino/Bibee/Williams/Allen Jr

Not really for trades because if Cle FO wasn't going to block this year's rookies, next year's rookies are even stronger (top-100 types)
SP - getting Mahle for 2 years was and upgrade but also contract length to avoid blocking Espino, WIlliams, Bibee -- so why get one (on 1 year) now when we can just keep Plesac/Civale till that time
OF - Yes, if you can get that stud CF and 1B/C for Bieber then do it ... but for a smaller trade it is just blocking Valera for next year, Noel/Halpin for following year. If Straw (w/ Brennan) is our weakest hitter with Naylor/Lava/Maile at catcher, can we live with it till Halpin is ready in mid-24? Yes
1B - I like the idea of platoon of Noel/Arias (R) and Naylor/Jones (L) ... again, if we can get Vargas for Bieber, then do it. But, I am not trading big chips to get the deal done unless Bieber is out the door already (Arias/Noel will fill in fine with Naylor/Jones).
C - If we can get a right handed platoon for Naylor to compete w/ Lavastida, I am all for it.
Loogy - Just takes up a valuable 40 man slot when we have Hentges on 40 and Mis and Herrin off 40 who can fill that role along with Cantillo in pinch (and to gain good experience in a playoff series).

Let's get it into the new thread... I'll respond on things in a moment haha
