23 Offseason GM Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't know anything about Blake Sabol, but he's good enough for me to agree to this deal.
Sabol is having a great Cactus League Season.. of course, it's the desert.. could be / probably is a mirage...

Blake Sabol

Threw out nine out of 66 runners last year...13.6%.

Eleven PB plus six errors.

Bats LH with severe splits.

Yep, just what we need, a left hand platoon catcher who can't catch, Ks a lot, and has below average hit, game power, run, and defense tools.

Yep. It doesnt matter that we have to drop somebody to fit him on the roster. It doesnt matter that we have to carry him the whole season on the active roster. It doesnt matter that we have an over abundance of LH corner bats.

I want him.

Glad to see you have come around. He has an OPS this spring similar to future MVP Myles Straw, that's what drew me to him.
What's funny is that I knew nothing about Sabol and still know nothing other than what you guys have posted here. The point is I don't care about the return I just want Amed dealt at this point. Clearly we will get nothing for him because he has little value to other teams.

Yes. I'm in on this kid.

Of course, I'm still expecting Zimmer, Bradley and Chang to become integral members of a contenders lineup.

Converted to C in the minors, so relatively new. Reminds me of Yan Gomes. Is old, but that's bc of the COVID year off. Has speed and can actually hit. Refills the sexiness tank that was sapped when Jones was dealt. Giants are raving about him and he probably wins the backup C gig and gets additional time at DH, 1B, and my heart. If he was here, CATS would be gushing over him daily. Instead we get some asshole who smashes watermelons and can't hit as the backup C.

and has a skullet!

I've backed off any trade discussions as I don't see them doing much anytime soon, but I'd still like for them to ask the Twins about the availability of Oliver Ortega and the Angels about Rengifo. Arias looks like he's ready to take over SS and we don't have another utility player with a potent bat which is where Rengifo would come in. Ortega has some nasty stuff and with Cleveland's ability to help guys harness and improve their repertoires I think he would be another gem much in the manner of DLS and maybe even better. I like him better than Touki to be honest.

I don't know if any of you fine folks listen to the Locked On Guardians podcasts, but they were discussing what an extension for Bieber might look like. After hearing their ideas I'm not sure the Guardians will want to sink almost $200M into Bieber into his mid to late 30's. Seems as if Bieber was going to be extended it would have been at the start of the 2019 season. That ship may have sailed and if that is the case then I still feel he should be dealt by the deadline at the latest. I do not get any enjoyment in stating that either.

This is around the time when MLB GM's are caught up in rosterbation/construction that makes for strange bedfellows.. We'll see..

I wouldn't be raving about him, just as I've not raved about anybody weve had that shared the same profile.

If he was here and we were forced to use him behind the plate, it wouldn't be long before this forum would be pining for a defensive catcher, whether he could smash pumpkins, or not.

The Braves optioned Grissom and Shewmake today. Just saying.

If we go by my OOTP experience... Go get Shewmake! Lol

And from your perspective you are trying to trade Rosario to Atlanta lol
