...and the Competitive Balance B draft choice could further expand the value of the deal in seasons to come.. provided the selection isn't another Ralphy...

But if Ralphy eventually hits in the bigs then it's not a loss....

A no defense (position or ability) bat only 1B.. yeah..let's get more of those guys..

sure.. all that matters in a losing argument is that "..he can hit.." just brilliant.. smh...

Umm... It was actually stated by Pluto that he heard the FO likes him from the pen as well as starting...

Now I expect him to be a starter, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of the pen for something like the playoffs right now...
I like you Coach so don't put your rep in the hands of someone like Pluto. I'm confident that they acquired him to be a starter. Now, he may very well start his Cleveland career in Columbus, but he'll be starting. IMO he has the potential to crack the rotation due to his talent and upside.

I like Ralphy's stick, but we're not spending enough time talking about Kayfus. The kid can play and he's well rounded unlike Ralphy. Can even run a little.

I'm not saying he wasn't acquired to be a starter, but there has been times when guys aka Carrasco, went to the pen for a short amount of time...

I think it's more of the Cleveland sees him being able to pitch out of the pen right now at a good level, but they are hoping he becomes a starter in the bigs

... a lot to like about Kayfus.... a solid four tool guy... has some versatility that can/should be exploited..

Carlos went to the pen because he couldn't throw strikes. Cecconi doesn't have that problem. If anything, he's in the zone too much. The development of his change up is key with Slade and I'm sure the Guardian's pitching minds are already on it.

But down the stretch aka September or multiple injuries in the pen, you could see him out there...

I'm saying he's a starter unless injuries force him into the pen...

There aren't enough BP options without Cecconi?

We have 9 options on the 40 man roster with Stephan coming back later...

Everyone else are starters...

Now, we have some open roster spots once the season starts so it's likely we could add someone then...

Alex Faedo and Owen White both got DFA'D today... Should we have any interest?

A bit interested, but the 40 man seems pretty set in stone until 60 day IL comes into play.

I feel like we are on the same page...

Like I am not against taking a flier, but the question is, are they better than who we have?

Would be nice, but as 1st time DFA, they need the 40 man space. Plus, there comes a time where we got to sift through what we have in McK, Allen and Cecconi -- and now even Avila and Kent. I was curious this afternoon when they didn't announce anything at 3 (7 day mark for Avila). Glad he made it through waivers but as 29 other teams passes (even Miami who could have deferred Curry or Padres who have 4 open spots), it shows that some of these guys are 1 in 10 chances that you get anything of value from (for every 1 year of Avila magic, there are dozens who don't work out -- and 2nd year magic is never guarunteed). Nice to add these pitchers off the 40 man for the staff to try to work with, but Guardians FO see a better chance in keeping our Allens, Freemans and Ariasssses on the 40 as they see greater potential there than some others who FO only takes like Pint off the 40.
