#29: TE, David Njoku, Miami

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You can call it whatever you want. I'm putting the logic you use to demean Jabrill to the test. It's terrible.

You call plays that stood and weren't overturned as "fumbles", you have to be reminded of plays the guy makes while boasting about anything he does that is something you could critique, and think the guy's facial expressions make him seem "entitled". It's one of the more obvious examples of the anti-Michigan rhetoric I've ever seen on a board not designated to the Buckeyes. And I'm a Buckeye fan myself. I'm just tired of letting this trash logic be absorbed by other posters without being called-out. I mean, were Njoku and Peppers playing in different conditions? That's the only reason I could see someone forgiving a dropped pass, but not a ball that slipped when the guy was falling out of bounds.

You can hold any opinions you want, but it doesn't make them legitimate.

For all the hype Peppers had at Michigan, he is an average pro at best. And he did fumble. And he did have a terrible fair catch. Look if Denzel Ward looked like crap, like Skrine or someone, I would call it out. Turns out he looks like an All Pro. Has nothing to do with his school. Even when he gave up a TD he had textbook blanket coverage. I'm not going to sit here and say that I only think Ward is better than Peppers because he is a Buckeye. He is flat out better. Period.

False. Check a box score.

Disagree completely. You've had it out for Peppers from the start and have been consistent in throwing a jab at Michigan while boasting about his low-lights. Why deny something so obviously true? Can you not see it?

Also, this isn't about Denzel Ward v. Jabrill Peppers. That'd be moving the goal posts. This is about taking every opportunity to pan Peppers; it goes back to you needing to be reminded about his play last season against Cincinnati. Someone had to mitigate your criticism with actual statistics because you said he did nothing out there. I'll continue to poke holes in these double standards.

Digging your heels in and calling it a fumble because you don't understand the rules of football is a bold stance this early in the year.

You can say whatever you like about the box score, but he fumbled. Only a shill for Jabrill would try to tell us not to believe our lying eyes.

I have not had it out for him from the start. I would love for him to improve. But let's take a look at PFF's end of year grade on Jabrill.

8. JABRILL PEPPERS, S, CLEVELAND BROWNS
2017 overall grade: 45.5

Coming out of Michigan, depending on who you asked and at what time of day, you’d hear a different projection on what position Jabrill Peppers would play as a pro. One of the positions you wouldn’t often hear was “true free safety” – and ultimately that’s right where Peppers ended up for the Browns. Peppers lined up as a free safety for Cleveland on 88.2 percent of his defensive snaps through the first 15 weeks of 2017 – he spent just 3.0 percent of his snaps at free safety for Michigan in 2016 – and the results were ugly, as he finished just three games over that stretch with an overall grade of at least 70.0. An injury to Derrick Kindred late in the year caused the Browns to shake things up and in Weeks 16 and 17, Peppers played more of the swiss-army knife role he was accustomed to in college, spending just 32.1 percent of his snaps at free safety during that two week sample. Peppers posted an 81.5 overall grade in Week 17 against the Steelers and in Week 16 he posted his best run-defense grade of the year (83.0). If Cleveland can keep Peppers closer to the line of scrimmage in 2018 his grade will almost certainly be better in Year 2.

So there you have it...I'm not "out to get him". PFF agreed. And they didn't mention his awful performance in the return game, one that he repeated yesterday.

I hope he improves. I really do. But shilling for him at this point is not a great look.

Dude, he fumbled. Just because he fumbled out of bounds doesn't take away from the fact that a QB tackled and stripped him. But that isn't even the point. Overall it was a good play by Peppers. I think he played ok yesterday except for his boneheaded fair catch.

Honestly, you searching the web for information to support your bias does nothing for me.

It's probably best we stop interacting because even if I dug for posts of your bias, you wouldn't see it.

Can you guys please take this to the peppers thread? I keep thinking some stats or something about njoku is getting posted and I'm just reading about peppers.

For real. I am going to miss all the good Njoku drop footage with their bickering.

Um....

Dude he posted PFF stuff, which is a major website and something a lot of you guys use all the time. What do you want him to use?

“It’s probably best we stop interacting” is something an 8th grader would say. The hell is this?

Some of you need to man the hell up. Frankly, @Mr. Orange says some dumb shit presumably to rile you up but you guys being unable to handle his criticism of Peppers, who really hasn’t been particularly impressive his entire career is bizarre. He absolutely put that ball on the turf and he almost fucked the Browns after making a nice play. He also DID fuck the Browns with that ridiculous fair catch.

The lot of you need to be able to handle people criticism of your favorite Browns and coaches when they suck and make mistakes. And you should also be able “to handle interacting” :chuckle:

Njoku sucked yesterday.

I'm trying to avoid this continuation. I would love to continue this conversation in the text upon which I brought it up; bring it to the Peppers thread.

@Mr. Orange put out some personal garbage and I called it because it's made-up. I've also called-out the same examples of the same shit from the past. It's been beyond obvious to anyone following the forum.

Bring it if you've got it.

I said my piece. The defense rests.
