5 Bold Predictions: 2019 Edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
1. Jon Edwards emerges as a late inning stopper

2. Clevenger and Bieber emerge as the next generation of starters in this league.

3. Naquin is on a different team by July.

4. Hand becomes a multi-inning closer, leads the Indians in relief IP

5. Greg Allen becomes a long-term starter, providing a great blend of offense and defense. Becomes the teams leadoff hitter.

My (not actually) bold prediction is that Kluber still performs at an all star level and his impending demise that RCF is obsessed with gets pushed back resulting in next year everyone having very similar bullet points about how Kluber falls apart

1. Jake Bauers has an .800 OPS with 20+ HR YIKES
2. Kluber finishes no better than 4th on the team in wins UNFORTUNATELY CORRECT
3. Greg Allen has an OBP% over .350 YIKES
4. Carlos Santana hits 35 HR and has an OPS over .900 for the first time in his career NAILED IT ALMOST ON THE NOSE
5. The team finishes top 5 in runs scored again OOF

Guess that's why they call them bold predictions

1. Bauer, Carrasco, and Clevinger finish the season with a lower ERA than Kluber
3/3

2. The Indians bullpen ranks in the Top 10 for lowest ERA
#3- 3.76 ERA

3. Jake Bauers hits 20 HR and swipes 20 bags
12 HR, 3 SB

4. Hanley Ramirez is not on the roster by July
April 17

5. The Perez/Plawecki platoon finishes with a higher OPS than Yan Gomes
.729 vs .705

It's that time of year again.

1) Carlos Santana leads the team in home runs and smokes a career high 39 bombs.
2) Shane Bieber takes over the mantle of Tribe Ace and leads the team in wins, ERA, and WHIP, while also finishing second in Cy Young voting.
3) Francisco Lindor has an off year, with a sub-.250 batting average and leaves the Indians front office wondering if they actually can afford him going forward.
4) Jake Bauers takes the American League by storm, with a .282 BA, 27 HR, 91 RBIs, and an amazing cannon out in the corner outfield for the Tribe.
5) The Cleveland Indians win the World Series. With the best rotation in starting baseball, an offense led by the likes of Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor, Jake Bauers, Carlos Santana, Jason Kipnis, and others, the Indians dominate the American League and take down the Philadelphia Phillies in 5 games to win their first World Series title since 1948.

1. Close enough, didn't quite get to 39 HR though.
2. Again, close enough. Bieber had a great year but he's probably finishing 4th in Cy voting.
3. Nope.
4. Hell no.
5. Nah.

2/5, like I am pretty much every year.

hmm....
1. All 5 starters will make at least 30 starts this season! Plutko and Anderson both though will end up with a start or two this season.
2. The Indians will have a top 5 bullpen ERA
3. Greg Allen will hit .300 and swipe 40+ bags
4. Indians will have a top 10 offense in baseball
5. They lose in the playoffs this year, but win the World Series in 2020!

Nope, Yupp, nope, nope (they did in the second half though) didn’t make the playoffs but I still have the second part for next season.

I didn’t do so well... lol 1/5 lol

It's the bold predictions thread. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
Not singling any specific prediction out just found it interesting how such a high % of posters included a Bauers prediction on their short lists

I was serious guys. Anyone who hits 40% on five bold predictions before the season starts has done darn well IMO.
Unless you're one of the people who made some not so bold predictions
