5 Bold Predictions | 2020 Edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If there's a season, it seems pretty simple. Just take service time as a percentage of the season played. If you are up the entire season, that's a full year.

If there's no season, which I'm not anticipating, I don't imagine any service time will be rewarded.

As far as how many games they'll play, the article I posted in the other thread had some good info regarding schedule density.

I don't envision the season starting prior to July, and if that's the case there's no way they play more than 110 games (and that's if they push the World Series to December).

You can talk about throwing in double-headers, but teams need days off. July 1 to October 31 is 123 days. Even if you only have a day off every two weeks (would be the densest schedule in history), that's still just 114 games with a December World Series.

I didn't catch all of the 92.3 interview, but that's the thing about "service time;" it's unclear if they can even use that method of a "multiplier."

Then whoever is on the opening day roster/IL gets credit for the missed games. I don't think service time will end up being that complicated.

Looks like the next domino is about to fall...

My understanding is Tokyo would be in breach of contract if they didn't at least have it at some point in 2020, though.

Oddly, Japan has had very few cases despite not even being "half in half out" (they barely even closed schools.)
