Sir'Dominic Pointer - A Cleveland Cavalier

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I dont think we even hold his draft rights anymore. We didnt sign him and he is not playing abroad, i think we lost his rights.

Just to clarify, Pointer didn't request his tender this summer, most likely as a favor to the Cavs for drafting him and with a guarantee of a deal this summer. That gives us his rights for one season where he is a "domestic draft and stash".

Interesting

Does that mean that any team can sign him after this season is over or we have to give up his rights first?

Thank you for clarifying, didnt know that was possible.

PS, Domestic draft and stash sounds like what is getting allot of NFL players in trouble. :chuckle:

That is correct. As of right now, the only team who can sign him to an NBA deal is the Cavs, and it will be that way until the new season starts. Means there is a 100% chance he is signed this Summer by the Cavs to be a part of the 20 man training camp roster.

So is there any chance we sign him to be the 15th man on the roster this season? Assuming no other big names get waived, anyways. @BimboColesHair?

OK so this is a HUGE deal for me, because not only am I a Cavs fan, Hapoel Eilat is actually my hometown team.
I lived in Eilat my whole life until about 5 years ago, and Hapoel is my team, obviously.
The Cavs cooperating with them and Sir'Dominic arriving is fucking amazing to me. Waiting for LeBron to sign in three years. :p

I presume this means we can continue to retain Sir'Dom's NBA rights while he's in Israel, but that's looking less and less like something we'll ever exercise.

I suppose we can hope he's on the Bruce Bowen slow boat to NBA success.

Where the fuck am I? where do I play right now? can't find myself on any D-League roster or the Israeli team.
Fucking weird. Anyone knows?

He is on loan at Kiryat Ata.
Not sure why they loaned him since he played very well in pre season matches.
