62 year old Julio Franco

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I think he is still a player/coach in the minors of the Korean league lol Looks like he is still MLB ready. I hope he gets into the Hall Of Fame since you cannot find a more dedicated baseball player than he is.

Julio Franco and Benito Santiago - the guys that somehow played from before I started elementary school and until after I graduated college. Pure ball players.

The superhero in the stories I make up for my children every night is named Julio Franco. That isn't a joke, it's my decision as a parent.

I applaud you.

When I first noted the restaurant chain "Uncle Julio's", I could only imagine Julio Franco as its figure head.

Franco2020! Slogan: 'Still has it!'

In all seriousness, one of my favorite players. Not because of HOF numbers, but because you could see when he was playing he truly loved the game.

He was one of my favorite players because there would always be one of the 3,000 fans in cavernous Cleveland Municipal Stadium yelling "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" (5 seconds for the first and third syllables).

He also did an interview with Pete Franklin at spring training one year -- except the next day it turned out it wasn't him, it was Bert Blyleven imitating him (Julio forgot he was supposed to do the show).

Bert was awesome. His curve broke halfway to Elyria. He hated being pulled from games -- thought starters should go nine innings (that's when men were men). He also mooned Pete Franklin once at spring training when Pete was on the air.

Julio did do the show later that spring and was awesome as well.
