The Road Warriors once cut a promo where they were talking about how tough it was living in the mean streets of Chicago as opposed to all the other wrestlers who had it so soft. And at one point, Animal says "we know what it's like to be beaten up by 10, 12, maybe 15 guys." My Marine buddy and I were watching it at our respective houses before meeting for dinner with our wives, and we both kind of independently latched on to it and were talking about it at dinner.

So from then on, for literally a couple of years, we'd say it about everything, and in the exact same cadence used by Animal.

"Hey Dave, how long do you think we'll have to wait for a table." "I dunno Q-Tip, probably 10, 12, maybe 15 minutes."

"Hey Q-Tip, how many potato skins do you think they'll bring?" "It's a big plate, so I'm guessing 10, 12, maybe 15 potato skins." We'd even do it if we were out in the field on a training exercise. "Hey Capt. Walters, how far do you think it is to the LZ?" "Well Capt. Tip, I'm guessing 10, 12, maybe 15 clicks."

Oddly, our wives weren't nearly as amused as we were.

Here's a channel I like to put on in the background or watch when I have some spare time.

The name of the channel is 'Wrestling With Wregret'. He puts out a lot of content and talks alot about current WWE/AEW/NXT whatever. But he also reviews 'classic' PPVs alot. Some of the classics are recent (10ish years ago), but also does some 80s and a bunch if 90s stuff.
I think I mentioned it here at some point, but the West Town Square Blockbuster (shout out to my west siders) never had the 95 & 96 Royal Rumble VHS available. I would check every Friday when my mom went to take me to stay at my grandmas for the evening. I looked from 1996-2001 at least. When that blockbuster went out of business in 2005ish they had a clearance sale and there was a box of WWF VHS tapes. Sure enough those two were never opened and placed in their respective cases. Took them home, hooked up a VHS player and watched them. Probably one of the happiest days of my life until that point. I loved wrestling, but once the attitude era hit my interest just wasnt there as much (crazy I know). To have those two tapes finally in my hands felt like pure joy.

Both of those guys were great, and actually knew how to wrestle. Kind of sad to see that clip with the "WWE" label, because Starrcade was an NWA/WCW event until WWF/WWE bought them out in 2001.

I was always more a fan of NWA/WCS than WWF/WWE. Just thought that in the late 80's in particular, they just had a fantastic stable. Flair in his prime, The Four Horseman, the Road Warriors, the Steiners, Sting, Heenan.... Also loved Jim Crockett as the preppy bad guy with that ridiculous tennis racket.
Cornette has a great podcast.

That is amazing!

I and my battle buddy from armor officers basic had a stupid re-occuring joke.

The film "Tropic Thunder" was popular at the time.

So, during field problems we would always demand Booty Sweat whenever we had hot dinner in the field (not often).

We then took the joke further when we did indeed acquire a case of real Booty Sweat. And Slurm!

Took a case to Iraq.

Only for a few years (must have been 2008-2010? if I was still a butter bar here), and only available at certain stores.

Unfortunately both are no longer available.

Butter bars take training seriously, as @The Human Q-Tip knows.

I’d say 3/8ths of the people I introduce to Tim and Eric appreciate them, but Tim did an identical bit on his podcast that parodied Joe Rogan’s.

“I’d say 20, 30, maybe 40 years ago…”

He and these two guys did a dead ringer for Joe’s podcast. He starts them out as two random comedians and 10 minutes in they suddenly switch to philospher/biologists/experts/teachers/etc.
