it blows my mind that it has already been 5 years since the tragedies that happened on 9/11, for me it was the second week of freshman year in High School. Nobody really knew what was going on and rumors had begun to swirl around that everything from the White House to the Capital was in rumble. I went home not knowing wether or not my father was alive or not.

What are some of your stories or things you remeber from that day? we all have them and i think itd be interesting to hear how other lived that horrible day.

Really weird experience for me since I was in the World Trade Center on 9/7/01 for about an hour..

My buddies and I were in New York that week and went to TRL on the 7th and went to the Yankees vs Red Sox games on 9/8/01, and 9/9/01.. We actually did a little shopping in the WTC, went to the highest tourist view point of the building, and even ate at the food court four days prior to that going down..

We flew home on the morning of the 10th... So even though I wasn't in New York when that happened, it's still kinda surreal and chilling when I look back on it..

All I remember thinking was; I was in those towers four days prior to them falling..

I just went to NYC this past weekend and the hotel i was at was right across the street from it.

NYC hasnt done a damn thing to show memory of it. There is a big ass hole with a veiwing deck to look at it.

Crazy day...

yea i stayed in one that was right across the street, pretty sure it was Hilton, we were on the 27th floor, the window looked directly into the pit, i kept looking down at the ground thinking "jesus christ, people were jumping from hundreds of feet higher then i am"

NYC hasnt done a damn thing to show memory of it. There is a big ass hole with a veiwing deck to look at it.

what do you mean by that? that they cleaned up the area really fast?

i was in 8th grade at the time.. i heard a 7th grade teacher yelling to my 8th grade teacher to put on channel 4 or whatever channel it was.. we turned it on and saw the buidling on fire.. Next thing you saw was another plane crashing to the other tower..

all i was thinking about was my family in New York if they were okay... they were okay.. than all day and night we just watched the news terrified... school principal made us turn the tvs off because kids and everyone was scared... but my teacher left it on(he was a history teacher)..

scary day.. these 5 years went fast..

I stayed home from school that day I was throwing up all night, I don't know why but I just remember looking outside laying in bed at like 8 saying what a beautiful day, and since I stayed home I can't go out and enjoy it later.

I was in 7th grade, so I was channel surfing and it was literally like 5 minutes after the first plane hit I saw something on CNN and I'm like whoa.

I went downstairs and said "Hey mom a plane just hit the world trade center" and she was like "Shane don't joke about that, it's not funny" and I didn't know what they were or much about them so I'm like ok whatever.

Then 10 minutes later she called me down and we watched the news for a while in a state of disbeleif she went to school and picked my brother up from Kindergarden and stuff..very surreal day.

It was crazy, I'll always remember sitting in my bed just watching TV on a beautiful September morning and just everything went wrong.

our teacher didnt let us watch TV, i was in History, and the TV was on before class started and i came in and saw the WTC smoking, once class started she turned it off, so i had no idea what was going on. We didnt have school the next day, and there were a couple girls who lost there father over at the pentagon.

its amazing how lucky we have been that there hasnt been another attack, and i pray to god that there wont. and i really dont want to go into work tomorrow and ride the metro in.

I remember it quite well. It was about 11pm here, and I was at my girls place (pre marriage). A story about Michael Jordan return (or something like that) was coming up after an add break. Well that story did not come on as it flashed over to the story of the first plane hitting the first tower. I sat and watched for hours wondering what the hell was going on. I remember vividly the reporters thinking the 2nd plane was a missile, and I'm like thinking "dude, that was a plane". Crazy night that was.

man i was in 7th grade math class and i had no real understanding of what the buildings were.i just remember my teacher telling us and it really freaked me out because i had no idea what it was.i got home my mom had the tv on and everything and we just stared at the tv.i was too freaked out to fall asleep that night and i didnt go to school the next day.

i remember the one year anniversary i went to the indians game against the blue jays and the terrorist warning level was at a max and my mom didnt want me my dad, sister, and brother to go but we did.the ceremony and everything was very emotional and i quiver thinking about that day.

i was freaking out thinking new york was like cleveland and we were going to be hit.i was pretty much thinking we were going to be hit not rly acknowledging all the other major cities their were.it was a creepy day all around.
