Aaron Hernandez's home searched

Investigators were searching New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez's North Attleboro, Mass., home in connection with the death of a man who police said was an associate of Hernandez, ABC News reported.

ABC News reports that Massachusetts investigators plan to interview Hernandez about the death.

During the search, two friends of Hernandez who were in the house tried to leave, but were stopped by state police. Hernandez has not been named as a suspect, but a rental vehicle with Rhode Island plates was found near the scene, which led investigators to Hernandez, SI.com reported.

Hernandez has been uncooperative with police since the body of a 27-year-old man was found in an industrial park not far from the Patriots player's home, two law enforcement sources told ABC.

A Patriots spokesman said, "I am aware of the reports, but I do not anticipate we will be commenting publicly during an ongoing police investigation."

The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro, Mass., reported on Tuesday that police identified a rented 2013 Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island license plates in connection with the possible homicide, in the town 40 miles south of Boston. The paper reported the vehicle is registered to Enterprise and investigators were hoping to analyze it for fingerprints.

Hernandez, 23, caught 51 passes for 483 yards and five touchdowns last season. The 2010 fourth-round pick has 175 receptions for 1,956 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career, getting named to the Pro Bowl in his second season.

Fuck. I was hoping to bring him up in my dynasty league for some serious playing time this year cuz of Gronks uncertainty. Hopefully Aaron gives Ray Lewis a call and asks for some advice.

I sure hope he gets the level of hate people have heaped on Ray Lewis.

You make it sound like that hate isn't deserved. Lewis at the very least helped cover up a murder.

This doesn't bode well for Urban Meyer, who supported the Hernandez choice wholeheartedly for a while now... For some reason, I feel like these guys, while possibly not involved, know a lot about the incident... Same with Ray Lewis.

Tebow taking the Pat's TE's down one by one...

From PFT. Same stuff as the TMZ report

June is a slow month for football. It hasn’t been a slow month for a certain football player’s lawyers.

According to TMZ, Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was sued last week in a Florida federal court for allegedly shooting someone in the face.

The lawsuit, filed by Alexander S. Bradley, claims that Hernandez shot Bradley on February 13, 2013 while the two men were riding in a car. Bradley allegedly lost his right eye as a result of the incident, along with other injuries.

Per TMZ, the case was dismissed only four days after it was filed. Since it’s highly unlikely that any action was taken on the case that quickly, there’s a chance the case was settled.

Hernandez would have been much smarter to settle the case before it was filed. Between the lawsuit and the investigation in Massachusetts, Hernandez is now more likely to attract the attention of the league office, which is more apt to apply the enforce the personal-conduct policy when a player is involved in multiple off-field incidents.

His eyeball exploded, he had facial reconstruction, has plates and screws in his arm and face, he was also in the hospital for several weeks....AND HE'S SUING FOR $100,000????!!!! I'd be suing for $100M.

C'mon, you're catching passes from Tom Brady why do you feel the need to be out there acting like the mexican Charles Bronson...

This is the part that makes me question some of the validity. I didn't comment because I was at work and just assumed I had read it wrong. It's not like he doesn't know what this guy makes. It just sounds like a case where something happened, Hernandez knows the details, and this guy wants to get whatever he can at this point.

Regardless of what he did and did not do, it sure sounds like Hernandez has a problem with making good decisions.

I doubt he ever steps on a football field again. In a few days he may never be outside of a prison again. This doesn't sound good.

LAW SOURCE: 4 men together in vehicle. Only 3 return to Aaron Hernandez's home. Odin Lloyd NOT one of them.
Hernandez was driver.

Innocent until proven guilty...but i'm betting the house he's guilty. Pro athletes, in general, are so freaking stupid.

Report: Evidence puts Hernandez with dead “associate” on evening of murder

Posted by Mike Florio on June 19, 2013, 11:05 PM EDT

Earlier today, Tom Curran of CSN New England gave an ominous assessment of the manner in which the investigation regarding a death of Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez’s “associate” could unfold.

It’s apparently unfolding.

The victim has officially been identified as 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, and his death has been ruled a homicide. According to FOX 25 in Boston, police have determined that four men — including Hernandez and Odin Lloyd — were in a vehicle together after leaving a bar, and that only three of the men returned to Hernandez’s home.

Per the report, and supplemented by tweets from Ted Daniel of FOX 25, forensic evidence collected by police places a vehicle “driven by” Hernandez at the “crime scene.” It’s unclear whether the crime scene was the location where Lloyd’s body was found, or whether the crime (i.e., the site of Lloyd’s murder) occurred elsewhere.

FOX 25 also reports that Lloyd sent a text to a friend referring to Hernandez.

Our mildly-educated guess is that more evidence of text messages and other electronically-created footprints will be used to further piece together the puzzle.

In general it rarely seems like these sort of things get better for the involved athlete.

They won't move too quickly on this because they don't want to start the clock and attach jeopardy.
