Two problems that come immediately to mind:

1. It isn't a reviewable call for the Browns coaches, so they are powerless to intervene.

2. New York can call in for a situation like that, and they chose not to. Why? They liked the idea of KC moving on at the time. Serious question though... If they knew Mahomes likely can't play next week... do they still turn a blind eye, or do they push Cleveland's narrative instead?

Hindsight for everyone involved is always different than the decision one must make in the moment.
