Announcement is expected today.

Bowden has a 139-63-2 career record, including 47-17-1 in 5 1/2 years at Auburn.

Very impressive hire for Akron. Surprising they could get him. He stepped back to North Alabama to prove he could still coach. Usually this gets someone like Terry a better job than Akron. I would think a 3rd tier big ten program would be where he would land.(like my alma matter) That said, I am very happy for Terry.

Decent hire

Was surprised they could get a recognizable name

Great hire, and quite shocked they got him actually.

So far they've landed a two star OG and a two star QB....i think Bowden could land a couple 3 star recruits

Pretty excited. A big name for the Zips? What did we do to deserve this!?

Chuck Amato has signed on to be defensive coordinator, while Terrell Buckley has left Florida State to come to Akron as the new cornerbacks coach.

Also, Florida State junior cornerback Avis Commack is transferring to Akron.

Akron's best player Brian Wagner is considering a transfer to Arizona. Wagner had the 2nd most tackles in D-1 this past season and it is rumored why he is leaving is to better his chance for the NFL

I wouldn't get too excited about Commack... One year of eligibility left and was suspended by FSU for stealing shit.

T-Buck on the other hand is a pretty awesome dude. I was fortunate enough to meet him and run into him a few times last year.
